At least we are sleeping until 4am now and then hear the pitter patter of tiny feet. Much better than 3-5 times a night. I think Danielle may be feeling threatened by the new baby coming. She has become really clingy latly, even when I drop her off at daycare which is really out of character for her. She usually loves going to daycare. At night she yells out for me and wont go back to sleep unless she can feel me. We will just keep perservering but I dont want her to think she cant sleep with me because we are having a new bubba. She is always checking to see where I am. I started my tough love last night and she only woke up the once. As soon as I heard her I went into her room and gave her a quick cuddle and kiss, told her to go back to sleep mummy was just going to the loo and then I'll come back (little white lie) and it worked, she just fell straight back to sleep until 7:30 this morning. I couldnt beleive how long it had been since the last time I woke up, rolled over and said good morning to my hubby. When my daughter woke up this morning we made a big deal about it and gave her stickers for her sticker chart so fingers crossed for tonight. Will keep you all up to date.
Left her for 10 mins then went in to make sure she was ok and gradually increased the time we left her - did this for a week and we now have a child who sleeps through the night.

Dont get me wrong it was hard to hear her crying for mummy but I use to be soft on her and put her in bed with us. The hardest part was when she did the major scream/cry - but you just have to perservere.

Although I was absolutley exhausted by the end of the week I am now able to sleep all night knowing that Arna is sleeping soundly :-)

Supernanny (Jo Frost) / Diane Levy have VERY good tips and tricks for discipline and sleeping habits.
