Hopefully it will come back soon. Although today went really well. This morning we went for a swim then visited my nanny, lunch, quiet time, played outside for a while, played all arvo, then off to bed happy as at 6.30.

Thanks for your advice everyone.

Once I took away the boobie at 13.5 months, Ella stopped sleeping properly during the day. I had to resort to alternate measures of getting her to sleep - pram. That's what we did until she dropped her sleep just over 2 years. She will still sleep occassionly, on long car trips etc.

I use a DVD to get Ella to have a rest. She thinks she is being punished if I try to get her to play quietly in her room (due to her having naps in the pram for a year or so).

She's dropping her sleep!!! But without fail, she goes back to having super long sleeps a few days after that.

In saying that, some babes do give up their sleeps early

Maybe take her for a big walk or encourage some tiring out prior to sleep. Just not too close to sleep time or she'll end up super hyper! (Made that mistake before )

I let her go straight through for a little while, but I made it clear to her at times that I was "having a break" and she could talk to me again in a minute (she can talk all day lol). Anyway, after a day or two she started crashing at all hours so what has ended up happening, is her having an afternoon nap a bit later - and a bit shorter.

Good luck though!

She is 2 this month. She had been having a nap from about 1-3pm (pretty much straight to sleep), then bed about 7pm until 7ish the next day (maybe taking helf an hour before she went to sleep, just lying there not crying).

Now she isnt settling for her nap until almost 2pm and only sleeping an hour or so, but then she is still awake in bed at 8.30 at night! Am trying her without a nap today to see if she will sleep better tonight, but how do you manage not getting a break? She is currently lying on the couch watching a video, cos she wouldnt stay in her room for quiet time.

Any ideas?
