Kobe grunts or moans if he wants something and it drives me crazy. Im getting firmer though and wont give in until he asks nicely which he is quite capable of doing. we have Paris who despite always being great with communication and all that kinda stuff, and has always beena happy child, has decided that crying over everything right now is the way to go. if she can't do something she cries, if i ask her to hop on the toilet - she crys, if i say i'm going to do her hair, she cries. everyday little things like asking her to put on her shoes make her cry, it's as if she just can't take being asked to do something. I know maybe it's just cos she doesn't want to, but come on, we have to explain EVERY LITTLE THING to get her to do stuff sometimes. Hang in there ladies, it does get better. Nice to know I am not the only one with this problem! I have a 15 month old who cries all the time for no apparent reason and it really wears you down. When I attend our coffee group all the other babies play happily and my wee boy just crys the whole time - it really makes you feel like a faliure at times and does not make for enjoyable outings. I was going to reply last night, but got stuck on the phone...

Maya never really did the screaming thing (maybe because she was quite verbal quite early) but I can sympathise with how frustrating it is because she whinges instead, and whinging is one thing that really gets under my skin.

I don't really have any advice, other than that the more words he learns the less he will scream (in theory) so it might just be a waiting game...

Sending you all my sympathies!! My sixteen month old has just mastered that super-annoying high pitch whinge for anything he wants, and it is driving me around the bend!! I am considering trading him in for a better behaved model!!
