When I had Maya in flats at daycare she was the only cloth butt there and I had to supply a lidded bucket for the dirty ones. Yay Becks, that's great! I totally agree that a wetbag is a heck of a lot nicer on the nose than a bin full of pooey sposies LOL. Hopefully you'll pave the way for some more parents to use MCNs with their kids!

Success!!!

We had the daycare annual BBQ today and they all saw Josh in his nappies and they said piece of cake. I have to provide the wetbag for them and i'll take Josh in for some pre visits just after his first birthday and then i'll show them how to put them on him. There were a little worried about the smell till I reminded them that they have a days worth of sposies sitting in the change room and they stink.

Hmm well now at least I have some info for my daycare. The head teacher did say that they were getting in another child that uses them as well so i'm hoping that they will be fine.

I've showed the daycare the nappies just after Josh went into them fulltime and they said that they looked easy enough (which they are) so maybe if I just take them in and tell them what to do when Josh starts

I think just in her basket (each child has a basket for all thier stuff). I supply then with 5 nappies each day which has always been enough and they are prestuffed. I supply flusable liners but they also have thier own ones which they use.

Well truth be told he had a bad reaction at sposies so I really don't want to put him in them again if I can help it. Even thou my friend told me that I could get a bag of budget nappies for him each week and it would cost me only $4 for daycare nappies, something I'd rather not pay for.

I was going to have them stuffed for them and I even told the head teacher that I would come down at their next staff meeting with Josh so that they can have a practical lesson with them and I would write up and instruction sheet for others to learn.

Oh well I have heaps of nappies so I can supply them with quite a few each day.

I may have a chat with the owner of the daycare at the xmas party this weekend about them.

Paws - where do they store Maddie's wetbag??

I would supply a wetbag and tea tree oil thing (as you said) and also flushable liners with the naps. Prestuff and perhaps mark which snaps the naps would be on.

I think you are being totally reasonable and I sooooo wish I had been a bit more assertive with Hannah's creche with her in naps and just told them I was using cloth and wouldn't buy sposies.

If you need to, tell them that he reacts really badly to sposies so you can't use them. (Not entirely untrue! They all get nappy rash at some point ) - Oh, and make sure you supply HEEEEAPS of naps. I know Han's creche used to change her about every 1/2 hour. I personally think a wetbag should be good enough, I use mine when I'm out all day and it never gets stinky. The MCNs can be folded into a little parcel and that alone keeps the smells in. If they aren't accomodating I would look else where. I'll be getting one made for me as I have a nappy making friend for a bit cheaper than that.

They put them in those sangynic bins (which stink to high heaven) so it's not like mine are going to be just sitting around.

The daycare I looked at had a drawer for each childs nappies and I was gonna supply a wetbag for the dirty ones to go in. You can buy a large wetbag for about $17 (holds a days worth). I have just sorted Josh's daycare out and spoke to them about the MCN's and they still aren't too sure about them as they don't know where they can store them (something about ministry of health and education guidelines). So for those that use them and at daycare what do you do? and do you know how/where they store them?

I was thinking of getting a large wet bag made for me (by my nappy making friend ) and getting a tiny bit of microfibre sewn in so I can put some teatree on it for the smells, and then they can just put the nappies in there and each day I would take it home and bring back clean nappies.

Do I sound unreasonable??
