Scrubbing them with dishwashing liquid then a good hot wash and dry in the sun. Ever since I started using the Dettol in wash stuff, I have had no problems with smells at all.

What washing powder are you using? There's only really a few washing powders that are good to use for nappies (ecostore, next generation and persil are the best).

I had the same problem and think maybe i still do. I have changed my washing powder to persil.. i have a front loader and bought the persil aloe vera not realizing it was for top loader.. i couldnt figure out for ages why the machine kept flooding the room with bubbles.. lol.
