i have found the perfect nappy for night. no pee smell hardly and very absorbent.

Jake likes to pee with no nappies on too. Actually, gross story ahead.
Jake had a bath the other day. Mum was giving it to him as I can't bend over so well. Anyway, the phone rang so she got him out and was on the phone. I was in the living room when Jake came over to me, naked. He had something in his hand. I thought it was raisins until I realised I hadn't given him any in weeks. He has a tendency to stash things so I was trying to make him give them to me as I thought they might be moldy. IT WAS POO!!!!! I nearly gagged. He'd pooed in the kitchen and HAD BROUGHT IT TO SHOW ME!!!!   Even now i shudder. Han is lovely. She's decided that whenever her nap gets taken off that it is time to do poos, especially in the bath. Arghhhhhhhh.

Was thinking about it today... in 6 months or so I could be rid of nappies! well the boys love to sit on their potties but as yet have given up the goods!!!! Although i think they prefer to be manly and do the standing thing - mostly outside so it doesnt worry me too much.

Have decided not to start jake tt'ing, but to introduce him to the potty. he has decided it's a cool hat and wears it as such. Then he stands on it. Put teddy on it today to show him how things are done and he will sit on it, but gets up pretty quickly.   Oh well, he's still so little, plenty of time yet! But I'm thinking he won't be like your friend's little girl janine!!

Paris is 2 years 4 months old, i do know of people starting earlier - one of our friends has alittle girl 2 months older than paris, and she was fully trained during the day at 14 months, made me very envious.

We trained our daughter just before she was two. lol, tell me about it - i have said to mike that Ayja can stay in nappies till she is 5. Miss Paris has taken to tting literally - and even though she had a nappy on last night, would not just go to sleep - we were up to 11pm with her going to the toilet every 10 mins and sittin gon there for 5.. would not get off - think she thought if she stayed there long enough that she might go.... was so frustrating cos i just wanted to go to bed, she was strung out and tired and yet i couldn't get angry with her cos that would have just caused probs really. doing well today though, going regularly so here's hoping tonight is better.

Summer seems to be the most common time to start TT, and I certainly found it easier to get the inevitable wet clothes dry, and warm enough for Maya to run around in just knickers which meant less washing.

And you may find that because Paris is older, she won't regress when you start placement. The earlier you start them the longer the process takes often. Hmmm, Janine, daycare probably hated me! I dumped her there the first day of TT and said "She's not wearing nappies anymore" and left... Poor women, it's not really their job to TT, but then again, maybe it is.

Anyways, she was still in the Under 2s then, and it was great coz there were only 6 kids and 3 teachers, so they were good about reminding her etc.

After she turned two and moved up she did regress a bit, partly I think because there is like 25 kids and only 4 teachers so they reminded her less often, partly because some of the teachers kept putting nappies on her by mistake, and partly because of all the disruption.

So then I bribed her. I told her she could have a lollipop each day that she came hoe with completely dry knickers. It worked perfectly - she would run up to me when I came to pick her up and either say "I get a lollipop Mama" or "I had a accident Mama". So she really got to understand about keeping herself dry.

Well, miss paris is having a sleep right now in a nappy. this morning was good till about 10 am - in a space of 2 hours she went through 6 pairs of undies and 3 changes of clothes... however she is now getting the hang of it i hope - and has had a couple of successes. I told her reward once she is fully trained is that i will go and get her a few pairs of hi-5 undies... she just has a whole heap of plain ones right now, and a pink pair of shrek ones that mum got her, was the first pair she chose this morning - she was so upset when she wet them.   lololo... the good things about new undies - is that they are still semi waterproof - so there hasn't been too many puddles - we do however have a little people playmat in the wash as i write. yay, only 1 more day and mike will be home for a week though - so that should help - may go and stock up on a few more pairs of undies while they are still $1.30 at tnt... can never have enough... i dare say once she returns to daycare we might go through a fair few too.

Emma how did Maya go with tting at daycare? Snap Emma, Lissy got Dora ones for christmas. Alyssa is so embarrassing with the toilet now. Mum went the other day and Lissy said to her did you wipe you bum? and mum said yes. Then Lissy said well you cant of washed your hands. Apparently mum was too quick. Yep, Maya has to use public toilets wherever she sees them too .

I TTed Maya cold turkey, I told her when she got up that she was a big girl and was going to wear knickers. In the beginning it was more about luck and timing I think - asking her every 1/2 hour or so if she needed to go, and if she said no, putting her on the toilet about once an hour.

I also let her pick the color knickers she wanted to wear (still do - she loves her new Dora the Explorer ones and goes around asking everyone what THEY have on THEIR knickers ), which I think helped.

Good luck. Great weather for it! Lissy still wears nappies for her sleeps. Im trying to get up the courage to leave them off for sleeps. I think ill buy one of those waterproof sheets for her bed first. No real tips except i always have a potty in the car for emergencys and I got to know where all the toilets in town were, fairly quickly.
