At the moment I have 25 on the list, i'm guessing there are still a few people away on holiday. So probably late next week I'll start the thread with who is in it and then get everyone to answer a few questions ie allergies, kids clothing sizes, your hobbies etc. Those that want to join can still PM their address. If you need vouching for I will be asking for that next week as well (althou pretty much everyone has been vouched for and there are a few that have been vouched for that haven't joined in yet).

Vanessa so long as you can be vouched for by another member (too which you already have been ) you can join. All you need to do is PM me your address and i'll add you to the list.

Im with you paws. It not about receiving and I for one am not joining hoping to get anything. If someone did receive an expensive gift and posted a thankyou I would be in there saying how cool, or if another received 4 in one week then I would be saying the exact some thing.

Its the gift of giving whether it be a second hand pair of sock for someone littlie or a fancy face cream for a very cool mum!

Koha is a gift of money value, support value or love. It cannot be priced nor compared to the koha for another.

Thanks Paw you have pretty much answered those questions.  I do like that one about a thread for certain things for allergies etc. Once we have the list i'll put that out.

I also see it as, you know its someone babies birthday coming up so you want to send them a birthday card.

I have also received a PM from someone about it and I totally agree with them, if you don't join by giving your address then you can't get someone else's. If you don't feel safe giving your address to me coz you don't know me ask someone who may know me to vouch that I am who I say I am.

So 150 posts is the min to join, you need to be known by someone else on the forum and be a regular member.

So i'm going to advertise on the other forums to let the other know about it as there are some in the TTC and pregnancy threads that don't come into the general threads all that much. But that'll be tomorrows job as i'm going to have a bath now

I don't want to sound like a bi*ch but...

I have been speaking with a couple of people and even thou we want to have all this security in getting into the tree the whole point is its the giving not receiving, as an example someone on the TTC boards may want to join and someone may want to send her a few POAS tests but she doesn't have the 500 posts but does know others on here so has every right to join.

We don't want this to turn into high school were its just the "popular" people doing it all. And we need to realise that its the giving not receiving that is the main thing. So if you are paranoid about giving your address out then don't join.

And please don't moan that you haven't received anything if you join. Coz its not the receiving that matters - like secret santa where everyone gives and receives.

Or maybe someone can be the designated "stalker" and if someone isnt on the lis we can pm the stalker who can in turn pm the recipient and ask if they are willing to give their addy this way it is all confidental.

I'll hold on to them for now. I have a spreadsheet set up with them all on it at the moment as i'm making sure that I get everyone and that they are vouched for. If someone wants an address they can PM me for it. I may if I need to get someone to help me if it becomes a huge job and for those times that I will be away, and also if someone wants to send something to me.

So just PM your addy to me if you want to join and who you want to vouch for. I'll give it a couple of weeks before I post the list of us in it (as some people may be on holiday at the moment), but if you want to send something and you know the person is in the Tree I can give you an address. Those that have said they are in I may PM you for your addy so I can get the list started.

Its an all year round thing, i;m sure we will do secret santa again this year but this is on top of that. It will also be the people in the tree sending things to others in the tree.

Anything and everything you want to send to someone. It could be that you have a heap of Treasures discount vouchers that you know you would use, but someone else in the Tree will be able to use them.

I did one late last year to Sarah Beth. I had a heap of nappies that I knew I would not use on Josh and Jack is around the same age as Josh so I got her address and sent the up to her to use for Jack. And I know there have been more.

From now, i've already had a few PM's.

It is the paying forward, random gifts of kindness. You should not expect that if you send something thing you will receive something back.

Ekk I hope someone vouches for me. I wont ask anyone as Nikki said some may not feel comfortable. SO please someone vouch for me!!!
