I think the waist on most of them is too small! PP pants are ok, but Han has always been quite big so they were always too tight aroung her tummy above her nappy. Jeans were pretty much a no go - I could get them done up but they looked so uncomfy to sit in. And going up a size made them too long. I used to put Han in PP pants with no probs - but in saying that, I only ever used one insert in my nappies which made for a decidedly trim bum... but then they'd leak after a while so it was a bit of a catch 22!

Sorry to thread jack - but when you say the PP jeans don't work with cloth bums, what about their non denim pants are they ok? And if you want jeans does going up a size work? Yep I would do exactly what cuppatea suggested. Give the fleece a good scrub by hand with the dishwashing liquid so it goes real soapy. Unfortunatley PP jeans are not made for cloth bums :(   In saying that JK are the same.   We have the same problem here. Hi, try handwashing them in dishwashing liquid, then put through a wash with full amount of powder and then through another wash with no powder at all. The dishwashing liquid removes build up (or in your case softener) and then the first wash removes the dishwashing liquid and then second one is like a massive rinse.

Dear Old MIL thought she was being helpful (!) and washed my Honeychilds with fabric softner as they were starting to stink a bit! They had a really oily feel to them so I strip washed them but with only one dose of vinegar as I'd run out. (thought about using chinese rice wine vinegar but decided against it!)

This morning I've got through for HC's and they have all leaked so lots of washing to do today!

Any ideas on how long it takes or what to do to get rid of the softner?

The other problem is that they make Ro's bum too big to fit into his clothes. The jeans he got for Christmas (nice PP ones) don't fit him in his cloth nappy anymore
