I don't think a paedophile deserves any sympathy whatsoever so for me childrens safety def comes first. The problem is that criminals in NZ have more rights than their victims and other innocents.

Good on police and schools for doing something.

p.s. I think the rehab people are a bit out of line here - the notices sent to parents didn't name the offender or include details of a description, they only alerted them to be more mindful of who was hanging around the schools and allowed them to take steps to increase their safety practices with their children, as is every parent's right. I definitely wouldn't say the notices were 'unneccesarily scaring the parents' as the rehab person suggested.
