I recommend you do it the recipe way the first time (but add veges in it) then you can change how you do it!! Also those cake tins that the sides come off (cant remember what they are called) are really really good, take the sides off and you have non-stick yummy quiche!!

Also with kebabs if you do say a bbq marinade on the meat, have a sauce that "compliments" it, might be messy but if they dip and eat then they getting iron!!

I've noticed when it's all mixed up he'll spoon up a mixture of vegies and meat.

If your worried about iron, there is a really good suppliment you can buy for our fussy eaters, I started Rico last month and have noticed a difference already.

Cheers
Sue

    Author: lenabeanz
Subject: 1604
Posted: 23 February 2006 at 11:22am

The quiche recipe :

Self-crusting Quiche

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Serves: 4 - 5

Ingredients

1 onion, finely chopped
3 bacon rashers, chopped
2 tsp butter
4 eggs
1 cup milk
1 packet MAGGI Parsley Sauce Mix
1/2 cup plain flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup bran flakes, (optional)
1 cup grated cheese

Method

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Grease a 20cm square metal baking pan.
Put the onion, bacon and butter in a microwave jug. Cover with waxed paper. Microwave on High for 2 minutes. Alternatively, place ingredients in a frying pan and saute over medium heat for 2 minutes.
Using a fork, whisk the eggs until the yolks and whites are combined. Add the milk and whisk well. Whisk in the sauce mix, flour, baking powder and bran, if used.
Stir in the bacon mixture and grated cheese. Pour into the baking pan.
Cook in the preheated oven for 20-30 minutes or until the centre of the quiche is firm when you test it with a knife.
Serve with a tossed green salad.

I usually add brocoli, mixed veges etc in as well and some mince or beef.

Just had another idea, if you get chicken mince or beef mince (real fine stuff) and get cookie cutters and get the boys to help you make shapes with them, cook them on the frypan and then serve them up... might make it interesting for them? And maybe those smiley faces hash brown things and have a "shapes" night... (if you do this idea prepare the mince like your going to make meatballs - otherwise they will fall apart!!)
