I'm with you on the quiet weekend - I'm trying to keep stress over Tuesdays BT at bay. I've pottered on some housework, and pretty much sat on the couch reading a book. It's helping me to relax a bit - probably because while I have my nose in a book, I'm not thinking about IVF. Thankfully, the book I'm reading is part of a huge 6 book series of historical novels, so it should see me through the entire cycle.

Poor DH is feeling the stress - he's busy at work, in desperate need of a holiday but keeps having his leave turned down, and he's going on an 8 week course starting beginning of May, so he hasn't got a chance of taking some days off and he's just about had enough of the whole infertility/IVF etc thing and life being so on hold. We really want to do stuff - go away, plan a holiday ANYTHING, but we're stuck. Our EC should have been this week, but instead we're looking into a black hole of not knowing how long this thing is going to go on for.

Yeah still have a bit of spotting or discharge, sorry TMI, but am now not worried about it...well more trying not to think about it as much.

Hope your weekend is going ok, mine is quiet. That's good to know - thanks melly, and thanks too Mel for the offer

I'm not too worried about doing it myself if that has to be the case, although DH will do his absolute best to be there (always the way - if things had been straight forward, timing wouldn't have been an issue! ). It would probably be good for him to see the embryo before they pop it back.

I hope you're doing ok today melly and things are back to normal? Ginger - it is a very simple process, much like a smear. All that happens is a small catheter is inserted through cervix, absolutely no pain a little discomfort from having a full bladder.

DH is really only there for moral support and to see embryo on screen before replacement.

Hope that helps, do you have a close friend or family member who could be there with you? Those of you who have done IVF - what is involved in embryo replacement? If all goes well and EC and subsequent embryo replacement go according to plan, DH and I have a timing issue that could see me doing it without him

Is there anaesthesia (sp?) involved? Would I be ok to do it on my own?
