Phew I am in the wrong profession!<br /><br />We are heading down the asthma track. I walked away feeling better about it all. He says his sleep is due to his chest/flem(sp?) and coughing.<br /><br />We have Ventalin now and are to give it to him every time he coughs...although he has informed me it is a stimulant....like we need any help there.<br />If it helps we are to go back and he will help us with preventing further. <br />We also go back in August to have all allergies tested again.<br /><br />FIngers crossed it works for us <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley14.gif" border="0"> ]]>

Maya used to get them all over, Sienna only seems to get them on her face. Mind you, I get what my doc describes as "stress hives" when I get run down so maybe they inherited it from me...<br /><br />Best of luck next week!]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=993">jack_&_charli</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 16565<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 22 April 2008 at 9:49pm<br /><br />have you taken him to a new environment lately?  like a different park or something?<br /><br />charli has never had any problems with allergies apart from 'asthma' mostly when she has a cold but DH took her to a park one afternoon and the next day, her cheeks were bright red like sunburn and she had red splotches all over her body.  dr's said it was hives and gave her a syringe of something (can't remember what it was called) and the redness went away the next day.<br /><br />poor boy coming and asking for his puffer<img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley6.gif" border="0">  but good in a way as you don't have to fight him to take it.  jack has asthma (gets it from me and my family) and it's abit of a mission to get him to breathe into the spacer <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif" border="0"> ]]>

If the doc is happy to do allergy test earlier then why not? If you're gonna do it later anyway..<br /><br />I used to get hives when I ate too much of certain types of fruit when I was younger (although, also had asthma so wheezing was always there). Which we were going to have the tests done again, skin prick and bloods. Maybe I should just bring the appointment forward. He said he was happy to see us earlier if need be.]]>

You dont need to do anything about the hives as such, unless they are extremely itchy and dont go away, or get worse. Keeping the area cool, or if real bad use cold flannels to cool the area, and u can use calamine lotion too.<br /><br /> But if u have no idea what he reacted to, and with the wheeziness, sounds like he should be getting some sort of allergy testing done to work out whats going on. Which I no longer know if that is a reaction to food or he is having problems with asthma. <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley6.gif" border="0"> The Dr wont diagnose asthma till he is 5.
