We took Arabella to a Time for Dancing class when she was a toddler and it was a really lovely way to be introduced to dancing. She just wore a fairy skirt over her regular clothes. The class was in Brooklyn where we live but I know they are run at various venues throughout Wellington. Nope, they tell them to bugger off - in the nicest possible way of course!

And they really do need to otherwise the kids just keep running to hang off their parents legs.

We have just enrolled Charlotte in the Time for Dancing class, which is actually starting on 10 May on Saturday mornings at the new City Fitness gym in Kapiti. Oh, I saw that one when I was googling last night. I wasn't sure what age they meant by pre-school. It sounds perfect, I don't want her in any strict ballet type thing (yet) just a fun dance and movement class. Do the grown ups join in?

Hannah used to go there but I got lazy. I should really re-enrol her as she loved it but I sort of want to make Sat mornings 'our time'

I have just looked into something along these lines for my son. He turns 2 in a couple of months.
We are in Auckland and the YMCA here does about 6 various classes including sports theme or dance themed classes that start at age 2.

We've been toying with the idea of putting Michaela into dance classes for awhile as she loves dancing, then last night when I got home I put a CD on for her and she made me dance for 40 mins. I'd leave briefly "mummy needs a glass of water I'll be right back" and if I took too long she come and find me and lead me back to the lounge to dance with her.

So I think now's as good a time as any to look into classes, has anyone put their kids into dance classes and can anyone recommend someone in wellington that caters for toddlers? It has to be totally fun and classes need to be in the afternoon or weekend.
