In just under 3 hours from now my little girl will be 4 years old! Where on earth has 4 years gone!
It just feels like yesterday that I was pregnant with her. Now I have a big girl who is at Kindy 3 days a week and am having to look at doing her pre enrolment interviews with school in the next few weeks!
This year she has grown up so much. In some ways not for the better. I think the past few months have been the most challenging so far, but the rewards are amazing!

That is awesome Sterryn!! Go Samantha!   I waited until my Sam decided to give it a go and we have had no problems.   I felt so pressured by everyone to do it earlier, but he simply wasn't ready until just before his third birthday!

I so can't wait for Sam to start kindy!!

Hi Shazza How are the boys?

Well my news is that my big girl is now toilet trained
I could not be prouder of her if I tried! We have been waiting such a long time for her to decide she wanted to co-operate with my attempts and dreading the results

'Touch wood' we have now gone over a week with no accidents at all. She takes herself off to the potty (not something I wanted to use, but little Miss tiny can't get up on the toilet by herself!) and goes when she needs to and just tells us when she is done.

I am so amazed! Plus when we are out she is happy to use a proper toilet!   
It seems like she has grown up before my eyes!

Plus she started Kindy the middle of May and is loving it! By the 3rd session she was running in the door and waving goodbye over her shoulder at me!

I don't know how i did it, but I am so thankful to have such a well adjusted, confident and happy child

Her hair is just gorgeous!   She is so cute!   And your kids are so similar.

And I don't know how three years went by so quickly.   It's hard to believe we have walking, talking, little people!

I am so proud of Sam. We got stuck into the toilet training a few weeks ago and have had no accidents in three days and even poos on the toilet last night!   

Sam isn't really interested in me taking photos anymore, so I either get these faces, or a really cheesy grin.



And here is my little monkey. By far the least easy of the two. Non sleeping, fussy bum!   Sam was a really easy baby, but Jamie really has me working hard.   He seems to be getting better though and sleeping a bit longer.



I wonder where all the other april/may 07 mums have gone?

Its sure is horrible to watch. The CT scan was for his ears, they want to look at the coclea. Shazza I'm glad to hear that Jay is doing well.

Rosie that is gorgeous - what a little sweetheart

Sam has lost a grommet - gah! Took her to the doctors yesterday about a cough and he could see it sitting in her ear canal. Have been given some drops to clear out the wax so that the doctor can check and see if there is fluid behind the ear drum. Fingers crossed there isn't! I hate the thought of putting her through another surgery! Won't know until late next week now though.

Another quiet day in our household. I have big plans to vacum - ooooohhhh   Nothing much new though to be honest. Paying off a huge layby for a new car seat for Sam and a new buggy for both of my babies. Looking forward to October when I get to meet my little man

Jay is doing really well. We still have a long road ahead of us trying to help him with getting the correct speech. He does say alot of words but because he's deaf theres sounds he doesn't say like TH, CH, P and so on...hope that makes sence LOL

Micah is doing really well, he's learning heaps of new words everyday, today's were house, mouse, sorry, etc etc it's very exciting!!!

He was really cute today, Daniel was playing with one of the draws on the TV unit, Micah went over and hit his hand saying 'No!', when I told him that Daniel was ok playing with it, he said to Daniel 'I'm sorry', I thought it was cute anyway!!!

Hi all
Havn't been in here for awhile! Jayden has just been diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss and will need hearing aids. We are going to starship on tuesday for a hearing aid fitting. We think the hearing loss is due to the fact he had a cleft palate. We have a lot more testing to be done and hope to find out the cause.

Your post made me laugh Rosie   I can just imagine a toddler trying to zoom around in a baby walker.

I think we should pat ourselves on the back for having such confident, happy children! It says something about our skills as parents and how secure our kids must feel if they are happy to be away from us

We are not officially toilet training yet, but have been sitting on the potty everyday. Sam likes to sit on her potty when I go to the loo (which makes for long visits ). I am secretly hoping she will accidently do something in there and I will make such a fuss that she will finally get what it is there for. She still thinks it is somewhere to sit, store toys etc etc
As for the dressing. No way! Undressing - now that is a completely different story

Speech wise, Sam is doing really well. We had lots of issues before her grommet surgery at the end of last year and she basically didn't talk at all. In the past couple of days she has been saying 5 word sentences - I am so impressed   Loads of new words constantly and apparently at the moment the favourite thing is 'silly Mummy'
I should add though that her speech is still toddler talk and alot of things I understand others wouldn't

All ok here. I am trying to figure out today whether Sam has a slightly upset tummy or it is teething related as the we have the last two molars coming through at the moment. 4 pooey messy nappies today including the one at 5.30am which I stupidly ignored thinking she was just being silly! It's amazing how they have grown to be so happy, confident and independent eh!! Sometime Micah is too happy and confident!! Going through town or in a shop he will quite happily say bye to me and push me away. He is quite happy if I leave!!!

Can your 'kids' dress themselves yet? And have you started toilet training yet?

Micah was really really funny today, Daniel was in his walker and after a while Micah wanted me to take him out, so I did, and then Micah promptly climbed in himself and raced around the lounge in the walker, he looked SO funny, his legs all cooped up like a adult on a kids bike!!!

His speech is getting alot better, not all understandable but rambling sentences as such, very cute, I must take a video to show him when he is older!!!. Is this similar to your 'kids' speech?

Wow a bike   I bet he loves that! I know Samantha loves her trike more than anything else she has in the world   She can't even pedal though and we have the steering locked

All good here. Just really tired. I have had a sinus infection for the last week and have been struggling to stay happy and fun for Sam while feeling so awful. No sign of it clearing up yet either

Sam is fantastic. She amazes me everyday. We have had such big changes in her over the past few months and she is now such a happy confident little girl - she makes me so proud

We went to visit a friend and her little 11 mth old boy the other day and Sam was so fantastic with him. She even got down on the floor and crawled around with him. Loved being followed around and basically had a ball. Hi everyone!

Hope you guys are all well, I supose you are all busy growing your little babies and running after toddlers?!!

We got Micah a bike last week, one of the little ones with trainer wheels, his little legs are still a bit short but he has learnt how to pedal it, trouble is, he consentrates so much on the pedalling thing, he forgets the steering!! I supose it will all come with practice!!!

It is so much fun with two of them together!! They are so entertaining to each other and constantly crack each other up!!!

LOL Julie. My least favourite word at the moment is 'NO!' Sam says it just for the sake of it I think. And I got away with her not saying it for so long too. I think she is making up for lost time now!

I bet you are missing Sam like crazy by now. Still there is a part of me that is a little jealous of you getting to sleep in   Ican't believe he is nearly 2 already! Where has the time gone!

Julie, I know exactly how you feel. Everytime I come onto OB and see the little box saying that the baby is due in just over 5 months I freak out!
I have done pretty much nothing so far! I sort of feel like I am in limbo until I find out what we are having in a couple of weeks though. It had better let me see!!!!
We have obviously bought Sam her new bed, and we have managed to pick up a great deal on some second hand drawers & a bedside table for the new babies room. We will be sanding them down and painting them like we did with Sam's. Picked them up for $10 off TM. They are in awesome condition too so I am pretty stoked about that!
Still have to get another car seat organised though and at $500+ that is a major! Plus we have decided we will get a double pram as well. All I see are $$$$$ signs in front of me - eek!

So, Sam is in bed asleep for the 2nd night in a row. A little more fussing tonight and I did have to put her back in twice. The first time she had gotten out of the bed and was standing by the door calling out 'Mummy come, Mummmmmeeeeeeyyyy'. She was not happy when I put her back but after a threat of a smacked bottom she stayed put and went to sleep

Yay for Samantha's big sleep in her new bed, What a clever girl.

Yeah I have been slack too, have been doing a lot more lurking than posting lately. I can't believe you are so close to 13 weeks already Renee, where did that time go. Hope you enjoyed seeing your little one in the scan today.

The last 10 weeks seem to have snuck on me and now I am trying to work out how on earth I am going to get everything I need to do done

Doesn't help when I keep injuring myself and picking up flu bugs from Playschool, which don't help the nausea and reflux.

Caleb seems to be picking up so many new words now and has some very cute things he does, like telling me to stay there and he will be back. And I am loving how affectionate he is lately, lots of kisses and cuddles for no reason.

He is also being really good with babies which is nice, he loves them and thinks they are his though. Awww clever girl Samantha for sleeping in her big bed!

OMG Sterryn I can't believe you are 17 weeks already! So close to the half way mark.   And Julie is nearly 30 weeks!

And I'm nearly 13 weeks!   These pregnancies are going so fast.

Sam isn't with me at the moment, he's having some time with his Dad and their family so has been gone since Saturday morning.

I miss him so much and I can't wait for him to come home.   Should be tomorrow or Wednesday.   Then I'm having his birthday party on Saturday and then his dad is going to take him again until the Monday or Tuesday after that.

His dad is buying him a big boy bed for his birthday so I am really excited about that!   He has been sleeping in a queen size bed since he was 18 months old and loves that so hopefully the transition will go smoothly.

God we are slack! It has nearly been a whole month since this thread was used!

Yay for your friend Julie    Little girls born on the 27th April are extra special as you know

Sam had a wonderful day today at Annabel's birthday party and then got lots of presents tonight when Daddy got home from work.
She had a dinner of spaghetti & a chocolate icecream - and then crashed at 6.30

She spent most of the day walking around saying 'hipray' to herself which was extra cute. Turns out she really just likes the cheers at the end of the song

So back to normal tomorrow, only now with a 2 year old. Man, Rosie what is your secret! I would love it if Sam would take herself to bed! In saying that, a day nap would also be a bonus in this house!

We haven't tried a bat & ball yet, but Sam loves balls in general and loves throwing/ catching them.

Scan was fine yesterday. Baby is all good, very happy in there - gonna be a soccer player though with all the kicking it's doing! That is very cute Mum2sam, I am still Mum to micah, which is fine, but everyone else is mum as well!!! I cant wait for him to start talking really well!!

He was really cute today, he was playing in the lounge and then went and collected up his blankie and dummy and trotted of to his room and shut the door. There wasnt any sound coming from the room (always a worry!) so I had a peek in and there he is all tucked up in his bed asleep!!!

Do any of your little ones love playing with bats and balls? Micah adores it and will play all day with me throwing the ball to him and him hitting it with the tennis racquet... which is quite fun but doesnt get alot done around the house....!!

Nope, don't know yet. Too early to tell, but I will be finding out as soon as I can. We have a scan today, but I don't think they will be able to see at 13 weeks what sex it will be. Dont' worry though, if I see any dangly bits I will let you all know

Yay, I am finally Mummy   I know that sounds silly, but it has taken this long for Sam to start calling me 'Mummy'. Up until now I have just been nameless the dog boy in our house. Daddy, Nanna & Poppa are all old favourites, but I was just the person who does everything for her
So today she starts calling me 'Mummy' and man does it make my heart want to burst everytime I hear it She pronounces it 'Mammeee' so it is extra cute.    'sigh' I love my little girl so much.

Happy 2nd Birthday to all those 2nd Birthdayers!!!

Isnt it funny, in some ways it seems no time at all that they were born and in other ways it feels as though they were here forever!!

Micah didnt seem to notice about Daniel coming along, He certainly hasnt got too jealous anyway which is nice. He would just get very upset if i put daniel into his capsule ready to go in the car but left him inside while i put micah in the car, It was very cute!!!

People always used to tell me when i was pregnant with Daniel that having 2 was 5 times as much work as 1, I dont think it is, a bit more juggling but it just happens, day by day.... And it's heaps of fun watching them start to interact etc!!!

Anyway, I'd better go and get tea done...

Oh Julie - That sucks!! Thank goodness at this age they are still too little to understand I guess!

I now check everything I buy after the Christmas Playhouse debarkle! Unbelievable how many mistakes like that are made by companies though isn't it!

Well the easter bunny is trying to get herself organised here this morning. I am feeling so proud of myself though. I decided I wanted to do a simple egg hunt for Samantha, so I have taken photos of her favourite toys, playhouse etc and thought I would place a mini egg and another photo at each spot. OMG I cant believe it has been 2 years already. I am scared about how quickly their teenage years are going to sneak up on us

Caleb has been having a fantastic day and loved his train cake, didn't even notice he didnt get his proper pressie. And we had a lovely family lunch.

Stupid stores though, I was checking the box last night at mum and dads place to see if I needed to borrow any tools for DH and I to put the tricycle together to only find that the box did not contain a bike at all. It has been packed away since August waiting and I hadn't even thought to check it was the right thing. My lovely mummy drove over to be at the store in Hamilton when they opened at 8am this morning hoping they would still have one. Unfortunately there is none left in the country at the moment and they are exclusive to this store, they are hoping to get another shipment in August.

After much thinking about changing it for one that wont last him as long we decided we will hope for the best and it can be a late birthdaybaby arrival present. I can tell you I will be checking everything in boxes as soon as I buy it from now on.

So we ended up giving him something mum had planned to, but he is just so excited either way so its not such a big deal, just gutting for us as we were looking forward to how excited he would have been.

Day sleeps hahahaha we only get that if he is exhausted and passes out. Not so good when mummy could really do with an afternoon nap. Although I have had a little more energy lately and have finally started organising the sewing for our new addition.

I am glad your morning sickness has finally eased Sterryn, mine is still going although has eased a little, little troll even made me puke last night while I was trying to organise dinner.

PP has some really temping cute green and brown overalls that are very tempting. I feel the same about the day naps. I really need Sam to have hers so I can have a break - but no!
Actually today she fell asleep in the car on the way home from grocery shopping and I managed to transfer her into her cot for another hour. It was bliss!

Shazza. Still a few weeks before I can find out what I am having - and I will if I can. Hopefully it will be another girl so I don't have to spend too much more money on it   I kept all of Sam's baby clothes and most are Pumpkin Patch. I have another gremlin refusing to sleep during the day.   I am so exhausted at the moment and the bloody morning sickness that I thought I had missed has hit me full on in the last couple of days.

Are you pregnant Mum2Sam? if so when is bubs due?

We put Jayden in a single bed at 18 months and havn't had any problems. When he was in the cot he always use to kick his blankets off even when it was freezing cold but since he's been in a big bed he loves being tucked in.

That is my biggest fear! That Sam will be so jealous when the new baby gets here that she won't accept it.
Of course in reality she doesn't actually have a choice so I'm sure things will be fine.

So I have to ask. Anybody else have a little gremlin that is desperately trying to drop a day sleep! Sam hasn't had on in nearly a week and it is driving me nuts. I keep putting her to bed at the same time and leaving her there for 1-1.5 hours, but no sleep! I am not going to stop putting her in there to 'rest' but arghhh, by 5pm she is a little monster. Add to that the fact that we are refusing to give her spaghetti on a daily basis and the dinner time tantrums are getting unbearable. I don't want to give in though, because she is so fussy with her eating already and I want it sorted before Baby 2 comes along! UGH!!!!!!!!

Oh, and we are starting potty training finally. She is definitley ready and has been for a little while, but just recently she has started telling me a few minutes before she does a poo.   Not everytime, but a few times so far.   She still doesn't want her nappy changed once she has done it though

And my other exciting news is that we bought her a bed. Well put a deposit on it anyway. I think she is ready as she is waking during the night hitting the sides of the cot. She will only sleep sideways in it which doesn't help! Anyway, I got a really good deal on a good quality Sleepyhead single bed (only $389 on special) and have my eyes on a couple of second hand bed ends on TM that if we win we will sand back and paint white to match her room. I cant believe Jayden is two..time has gone so fast, even little Cameron is 6 months now. It only feels like yesterday i had him!
Id be lying if I said I wasnt worried how things would turn out once Cameron arrived but Jayden took it on the chin and adapted really quickly to having a little brother. It great the way things just "gel" together. Welcome to Rosie and Shazza, we don't post much in this thread. Happy Birthday for the babies who have turned two. It has gone so fast!

I have over a month to go before mine turns two though. :D

Sam is talking heaps and will say things like "Mama go outside too" and "Wheres nana gone?" So is just starting to get into saying a few little sentences.

He isn't feeling well at the moment and spent most of today alternating between screaming and grizzling and rubbing his nose. He also has a sore toe (After the oil fin heater accident his toenail grows back really funny and then we have to cut it right back to nothing otherwise it gets caught on everything and gives him a lot of grief when he goes to bed and when he wears shoes because it rubs)   He also managed to get a sty in his eye and a rash on his cheek after skidding his face into the grass outside, so we aren't too happy this weekend.

I am so thankful that I haven't got any morning sickness yet as I'm not sure quite how I would cope!

Hi Rosie, welcome to our poor neglected part of the board.

Caleb seems to say a lot but sometimes the words are very similar sounding and hard for others to understand what he is saying, although it is starting to get a lot clearer. I am expecting him to randomly turn out full sentences at some stage soon with no warning

Trains are a big hit here too. From the second we get up in the morning all we want is to watch the "trains" he has got addicted to the new show "Chugingtons" on TV2 in the morning and it only lasts 10 mins. Then he just wants to watch trains all day. I might have to investigate whether there are dvd's.

My darling girl Samantha doesn't talk much either. We had numerous ear problems when she was smaller though, and are finally noticing a difference in her speech. She is definitley trying to speak and is saying more everyday. Her favourite word at the moment is Choo Choo for Thomas the tank engine

I just thought I would say 'hi', I am mummy to Micah who was born 3 april, as you were all saying earlier, where on earth has 2 years gone, it seems no time at all that I found out that i was pregnant with him!!!

Micah isnt talking too much (well not that other people can understand) but is trying now, (especially for anything with wheels!!!). Are your kids talking so that others can easily understand all their words??

Hi all. I hope everyone is going well.

We have moved and settled in to our new house - which is just wonderul. We absolutely love it

The only down side is that we can't get broadband internet so I have not been on here often. I can't believe I forgot how slow Dial up is!!! Ugh

Sam is doing really well. She settled into our new house like a real star. No problems at all and is loving her new bigger room and her seperate playroom
Her speech has really taken off recently and she is becoming a real character (if not a bit of a spoilt princess ). She has also shot up in height and is now finally fitting her size 1 clothes

Well the bugs seem to be going....YAY
We had Jordys appointment today for his broken collarbone...they are perfectly happy with him ...even bigger yay.
He will always have a deformed shoulder where the bone sticks out but will have no permanent damage (huge sigh of relief).
Hard to believe all our babies will be 2 soon. Time goes so fast.
I started a blog just before Jordy got diagonosed and it is quite interesting to read back on all the funny things the kidlets have done.

Well I have bought myself 5 minutes by putting on 'the night garden' so will do a quick post in here.

Yay, only 8 more sleeps to go until moving day   We are fairly organised which is good. It's just annoying now though because the new house is empty and we drive past longingly gazing at it   We both just want to go now!    Plus we had another look around and found out the new place has a central vacum system and heated floors so I am extra keen now
I think this move is still going to be easier than the last one at 32 weeks pregnant that's for sure!!!

Julie, how you doing? Still sick with this pregnancy? I can only imagine! It's something I don't think you can forget

That is one thing i hate doing is moving..... We moved into our current house when Jordy was a week old. We moved all by ourselves and i had had a c section.
3 out of 5 in our family have shocking headcolds it sucks. Especially since Jordy doesn't know why he is feeling like crap.

Wow, Kaylabumbis, Jordan sounds like such a tough wee man. I bet breaking his collar bone would have hurt!! I am sorry to hear you guys have been having a tough time of late.

Nothing much new here. Just packing up getting ready for our move in 2 weeks.   I finally got around to notifying the property manager yesterday and got told we have to pay an extra 4 days rent here! Yuck! Still it will be worth it to get out of this place that's for sure!

Samantha is great. Learnt a few more new words last week. I am so pleased because I was really starting to worry about her. I kept hearing all these wonderful stories about kids having grommets put in and talking within a couple of weeks afterwards and she just never did! Anyway, this week has been all about 'cracker' and 'poppa' and 'car'. Can't wait to see what next week will bring

And Julie, no I can't believe our kids will be 2 this year! It is like a cruel joke! I havn't posted in here for such a long time. In Nov we found out that Jordy has cerebal palsy which explains sooo much. He can say 3 words now and only my partner and I can understand him.

Hi Laura and welcome to our little thread. Quinn sounds so cute I am very impressed with all the words! I think I have speech envy

All is good here. Samantha is definitley talking more although we still can't understand a lot of it. I am pleased to announce we are getting words now though - yesterdays new one is 'cracker'. I feel like this whole surgery thing has delayed her speech so much especially considering she was talking really early before the ear problems started! I feel a bit ripped off to be honest!

I got hairties to stay in her hair yesterday and she was walking around with two little pigtails! It was gorgeous! I will post a photo of it when I get the chance. She is looking like a real little girl now. It is so weird they are growing up way too fast! Especially since we are now fast approaching a 2nd birthday!   I'm still not sure how that happened!

We are moving house in 3 weeks! Still staying in the same area (about 1 km away) but it is much nicer and the house is gorgeous! I can't wait to get out of here! I am over the neighbours dogs barking and the kids playing in the private lane outside Sam's room at night! I am looking forward to an extra bedroom (Sam is getting a playroom) and having a gorgeous kitchen!   I am not looking forward to the packing and moving bit

Welcome Laura, Quinn sounds like he is doing really well.

It has been so long since anyone posted, I keep meaning to and not quite getting around to it.
Things haven't been too interesting here, although Caleb's vocabulary seems to be increasing daily which is cool. He is also into being helpful which has been great when I haven't been feeling well. Our biggest problem is his stubborness and the tantrums we get if you dont let him have what he wants when he wants it.

He wants to be so independant at the moment as well, and will quite happily try and pour himself a drink or cut off a piece of cake, problem is it can leave things quite messy for me to deal with. Especially since he hasn't worked out how to stop pouring and things his bedroom floor is a great place to practise

No second baby here for us.... so a big new years it is!!! a killer period though so guess my hormones were all whacky. Life can be really unfair sometimes (Re miscarriages) but I am thankful it happened after Neosha because i don't think I could have handled that first time round. scary stuff you are very brave.


I Luuuurve this age it's really fun, I love drawing with her and playing playdough and the cute lil things she does and says. Im so in love... perhaps obsessed too lol

Jess I was thinking about you today. I have my fingers crossed for you   I can totally understand your thinking - before Sam we had a couple of miscarriages in a row plus it took us 5 years to get her. She was our last try because I simply could not handle losing another one.
Funny how now that is all behind us and I have Samantha, that I would happily do it again though

That is really cute about all the barbie dolls. LIke you said though, girls are fun and you might as well enjoy it while you can - before they all start demanding certain things anyway

Is it just me that thinks this is the coolest age?

I just enjoy being with Samantha so much now! She is so cool - and now that she feels she can communicate (god only knows what she is saying ) is just so chatty and animated. She cracks me up at least a dozen times a day,and I find myself more and more in awe of her!   Being a Mommy rocks!!!

Oh gosh, biting eek!!!

LOL about being spoilt, I never remember getting as much for xmas as Neosha does, this year we have stuffed her stocking with playdoh accessories, books, crayola gear and puzzles we got her the clippo activity table, fisher price my first doll house, mega sketcher, playskool dress me daisy doll, a whole lot of little people gear (ark, car, day house etc) ummmm extra clipo for the table oh gosh a few barbies but we put those away. Yes my daughter has a barbie collection of over 25 dolls and one day when she is big enough I will tell her about them and we will pull them all out of the wardrobe and she will be so surprised Or she will be a total tom boy and think they are dumb

I think while I have one child I will spoil her as much as I want, and we can afford it so why not? Lil girls are so fun!

Hmmm it wouldn't be a terrible thing if I was pregnant we tried and tried for ages and have suffered 3 miscarriages this year so I am more scared than anything. Well I officially finished Sam's presents today. Just had to get the last of them (a couple of books for her leap pad). She is so spoilt though and has so much from us this year. I just got her a Euro-trike (the last big thing) this morning on Trade Me. So along with her playhouse, playdough activity table and a couple of other little things she is well and truly done! I haven't done anyone else yet though. Still trying to get through December birthdays - ugh!

Poor Sam has 8 bite marks on her arms from her little friend after a play date today. Apparently Sam was offending her big time today! I am not too worried as I know all kids go through this stage, and it doesn't break the skin. Ooooh there is no way I could rely on natural family planning! My cycle is usually not that regular and I get pregnant way too easily! LOL.

Oh no poor you with teething! I admire the fact that you manage with 2 under 2.... not sure if I could handle it and on that note I woke up this morning feeling very off colour and have incredibly huge sore bbs *runs to check chart* seems im 8dpo and we aren't trying but using natural family planning.... im hoping something hasn't gone wrong here

Things have got a bit more chatty in here!

Renee - I read your other post in the general forum. Let me just say you are to be commended on your courage hun - good for you for standing up for yourself and making sure your little one and you are safe. Good luck with the counselling etc - if you ever need more ears to listen... we are always here for support You are a star I really hope you have a nice festive season....considering all the crap you've had to put up lately!.

Sterryn - really glad to hear Sam's procedure went well and her speech is coming along well. You must be so pleased with her progress. Georgia here is so chatty - doesn't shut up all day - I can work out most words - but she strings lots together that I just can't make out too..... crazy stuff. Nice that you took her to the beach - toddlers love playing with sand!

Hello, and congrat's Jess on your engagement!! How exciting!! Lovely pix of you and Neosha.

In terms of TT - I also read somewhere that their bladders aren't capable of voluntary stop/starting till they are at least 18 mths old... and then it is just a matter of watching for the signs. We have had a few here and we might start giving TT a go when future DH has finished work for the year and is on holidays - once school finishes.
As for big beds - we've just put little nearly 5 mth old Tilly into a cot (which we borrowed from a friend) and will keep Georgia in her cot for a bit longer..... with two under two....I don't need the hassle of a toddler always getting out of bed at the moment. They are both sleeping in the nursery together now too..... Gigi is so cute, when she wakes up she waves at Matilda and says "Tilda"!

We have had a terrible time with teething here and Georgia has been absolutely miserable some days. She's also had a couple of nights in our bed - and we definitely want to curb that! Took her to the DOC on Monday and she's got an inflamed throat which she got swabbed for. I also have to try and get a urine sample from her - already stuffed up twice with those stupid wee bags they give you - so will have to go back to CentralMEd to get some more. They are so tricky - girls are so tricky! It took a week to get a sample from Matilda!

I took Samantha to the beach for the first time today. I am so slack as we live seriously not even 1km away but have never gotten around to taking Sam.
Anyway, she loved digging in the sand and collecting shells. Didn't like the water. The minute the wave came up and touched her feed she clung to me and lifted her feet off the ground. It was so funny!

Oh, and because it can't all be good - she has oral thrush! WTF! How on earth did she get that! The pharmacist said' oh don't worry she probably got it from eating too much dairy'! Well that would be good if she could eat any dairy. So it has been kindly given to her by a friend. OMG, we must know the same people!

My grandmother was the worst. Apparently my Dad etc were TT by the time they were 6 months old! They used some method where you basically sit them over the toilet when they wake up until they do something.
I basically told everyone to @##$! off. I spent a fortune on nappies and was getting some use out of them!
I still get the occassional article in the post from her about it!   They go straight in the bin! Honestly!

Yeah the old... my kids were toilet trained before thier first birthdays....... well aren't you just the model parent? I don't want to rush Neosha either, she tells me after she has gone. Anyway the supernanny books says they don't control that side of things till they are 18 months and to wait until 2 or 2 1/2 to start and the process will be quick and easy! Personally I think they need to have more language as well.

Don't you hate that? I have my family telling me that I should be TT Samantha, but clearly she is not ready. I have been watching for the signs, but don't really think she is quite there.
I read that she needs to be aware that she is about to 'go'. I know she is, but she doesn't tell me, so can't really start TT yet.
I don't really see what the hurry is anyway. I figure so long as she is TT and not having a bottle by the time she goes to school then I have done a good job!

Renee, I am sorry to hear it hasn't worked out with Sam's dad. Sounds like it is the best thing for you and Sam to not be in that situation though.
