I had a look at the Cascade one today at The Warehouse, it was huge, but it was like $70. It looked really easy to use though. I had an LV martin one which was brilliant, I got it for my 21st birthday and worked it to death. My mum and dad just got a cheapy from the Warehouse and it worked well too.

I have a basic Breville as well (less than $100) and it does everything I need. My original one came from a swap meet and had no instructions but I just used it on the basic bread mode and never had a problem. My grandparents gave me their old one but I never use it coz it didn't come with instructions or a recipe book so I second those things being important.

I've heard that the ones you can stop to add extra ingredients/shape bread are good as they give you the flexibility to make more in them.

But I guess it depends on whether you'd want to make wholegrains etc.

Also some don't cook as evenly as others. Aren't they all much of a muchness?
