snazzipants are great fitted nappies - the only minus is they can take a while to dry.

there are some great kiwi made fitted nappies out there.

Ok so whats a good fitted and cover system and how should it all work? I remember we had some in the hire kit for Noah but I didn't really like them. Can't remember why now. I think it was most likely a result of me not using them properly.

The new V3 comes with a smaller newborn insert to cut down the bulk. I haven't tried it but I think it's a great idea!

We've used these on Olivia since she was 8 weeks old and they work great. She would've been nearly 5 kg then. She's never leaked out of them. tehe only as long as eden is old.. so about 11 weeks. i also had one with my middle boy, and come to think of it i dont know what i did with it now.

Bizzy, how long have you been using the Bubblebubs. I found it took probably a dozen washes to get mine broken in and now they work brilliantly, but I was feeling a bit frustrated with them in the beginning.

Sorry, no answers on the newborn questions though as my bubs was around 4.5 months old. I didn't try MCN until Leo was 4.5mths old, and he wore a medium Fuzzi from 5.5mths old without any problems fitting over his clothes. They are really slim-fitting IMO. My sister used homemade newborn/small pockets on her baby from only a couple of days old and never had any problems with his clothing.

I found fitteds and covers really good for newborns as it was a very leakproof system. The newborn pockets I used were great cos they were so tiny they fitted, but only really fit for a couple of weeks. Then the small sizes were a bit gappy on chicken legs. We used a couple of bags of sposies for the inital 10 days - 2 weeks just because I had already bought them before deciding about cloth.

We only used pockets though and had a couple of AIO's. If you get small pockets with snaps a good idea is to have some cross over snaps added so you can make them do up even tighter which is handy until they start putting on weight. We needed them for the first couple of months. (hope that doesn't confuse you!)

The idea of fitteds didn't sit well with me having little to no experience with tiny bubbas I didn't want to have to put on a fitted and then a cover over top plus clothing. Just seemed really stupid to me for a newborn. I used a combination of Bumgenius (pockets) and prefolds, but mainly bumgenius and they fitted really well (and still do on the first size setting). We have used NapNaps on Jack since the day he came home from the hospital. I used prefolds on Sophie until she was 3 months old, but seeing as your not keen with that option I would try fitteds probably. A hire kit sounds as great option, other wise maybe try a variety of AIO's, fitteds and pockets to see what works best for you.

I have no experience with MCN and newborns, my newborns were in flats and pins, but I am giving it a go for this baby. I've bought mostly pockets, but also a Bubblebubs AIO, a Berry Plush and a Bitti D'lish. I also have a stash of prefolds and flats to resort to if the pockets are too tricky in the first few weeks.

We used disposables until isla stopped pooing sooo often (was like 12 times a day), which was 5 weeks old. From then on we used fuzzibuns pocket nappies-size small. i'm not sure on the newborn thing....i didn't start using cloth til charli was 3mths and we used covers/prefolds, then went into pockets about a month or so later........but just wanted to say a HUGE CONGRATS!!!!!!!

my newborn has had no problems fitting newborn clothes over her MCN.

i havent had much luck with pockets with her, but then didnt think i would in the newborn stage anyway. Have found the prefolds really good...

Hi everyone,

I am really keen to use MCN's for my little bumplet on the way. I would like to use them from newborn age.

Could someone please give me some suggestions as to the best type of nappies for me to use on such a wee bub. I am not into prefolds - If I have to do that, I will use sposies for the first few months!!

The other question I have is, with pocket type MCN's will a newborn fit newborn sized pants and clothing?
