Yup its the scan I am most terrified of for the same reason. DH has said I can close me eyes and he will squeeze my hand when he sees the heartbeat.

Yea thats what i am most worried about - the dread that fills you when you know something isnt right!

I will ask the doctor but from what i have read most start trying again after their first period.
I have time on my side, only in my early 20's. I asked my gyno this just the other night! In my case (ectopic) I have to wait until my levels are 0 before I start trying again - to make sure everything is clear, but then he said that I won't be ovulating this month (as my body still thinks I'm pregnant!) and that when I get my period next which should co-incide with my levels at 0. So theoretically I could start after my next AF.
Personally for me, I want to be emotionally ready. I still haven't even thought of when I will start trying.

My gp said that we were good to go straight away as I had a straight forward natural mc. However I didn't feel ready so waited until I had had a period before we started trying and then got pregnant straight away.
This time has been extremely stressful as I wasn't expecting to get pregnant straight away (although it is nice that i did) and have found this first part of the pregnancy very stressful. Luckily my gp sent me for a scan at 7 weeks where we saw a strong heartbeat and that has helped me feel a little more relaxed about things but I will feel a whole heap better once we have had the 12 week scan.

I think my best advice would be to first ask your doc when you can physically start trying again (i'm assuming that there might be differing advice depending on your individual situation) and then if you don't feel emotionally ready straight away just give yourself a cycle or 2, I know that my headspace 6 weeks after the mc when I was ovulating was completely different to only 2 weeks after when I ovulated (if that makes sense). I asked the specialist that and was just this minute searching through posts to see if anyone had asked a similar question.

Our specialist said that there is a slight increase in MC again straight after a a MC and it is generally best to wait till after your first period post MC.....he also said to us that we might want to start straight away due to my age. Not sure. With my first MC, had a D&C in Jan and conceived in March and had a healthy boy in Dec. My understanding is that getting pregnant again soon won't increase your chances of a miscarriage. Some people are more fertile after a miscarrage.

We have to wait 6 months before trying again (so in sept is fine for us) but that is because I had an ectopic.. but if it wasn't for that DH and I would have started trying again maybe a month afterwards.

Hey ladies,

I know this has probably been asked many times before but how long did you wait to try again?
I want to try soon, maybe in a month but does trying so soon increase your chances of miscarrying again?
Haven't gone for my 2 week check up yet so haven't asked doctor and figured he would only have one opnion and not real life like you girls.
