We bought a fuzzi to check them out, I practised putting it on a teddy bear. Couldnt get over how small they were, very cute

We've found Fuzzi's to work really well for us. We had Liam in prefolds & covers for a while but I found he got quite wet around his tummy & we'd always be changing him. They were very good at containing newborn explosions though (& they're good for the budget too). You should definitely try an itti bitti d'lish - they're so devine.

ginger.....no.9 definately needs an itti bitti d'lish......oh and mothers instinct have drybees on special for $18.90!!!

I agree with most of the others, prefolds/flats and wraps for immobile tiny bubbas and then pockets for wriggly bigger butts.
You SO need ecobubs for No.9! Liz, I have an old bug print Fuzzi that I bought off Deborah (used on both boys I think?!?!), the fleece is very thin (worn down) but still keeps her dry enough as a night nappy, so don't throw any of them away just yet!

P.S third baby?!?!?!?!? Did I miss something?

I agree with Emma - there's no such thing as an all round best nappy, although when I was researching MCNs 2 years agos it seemed everyone used Fuzzis and couldn't fault them, that's why I went with them and was really happy with the old style USA made ones. Now I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole, but that just me - I know too much about the company

Best thing to do would be to either get a hire kit or ask Emma as I'm sure she has 2 of every single brand available

I go through stages of favourites I have quite a few d'lish and love how trim they are I also love berry plush for AIOs.
Pockets; Baby harmony is a fave. I hate all our pockets with pictures on the PUL as they tend to leak. Foxys are really reliable and cute but a bit more bulky (excellent for night time too).

I quite like fitteds as well with longies or soakers. My favourite fitted is the itti bitti boo but my two aren't big wetters.

I'd buy a few different ones that look cute and see where you go from there. we bought fuzzies for Taine at 3 months - mediums and he still fits them at 2. do excellent value for money - however for bubba three - these are probably past there best by date.
We used Fuzzis for Jake as a night nappy and they have done well.

But... I will tell you a few of my favourites.

Honeychild/Fuzzibunz - Haven't tried Honeychild but Fuzzis always worked pretty well for us

Designer Bums - Yum. That's all I have to say.

Itti Bitti Delish - Also yum.

Ecobubs - I love the stripes they have atm and their clothes! Cute! (But not really helpful with the budget stuff)

i found prefolds/covers best on a young butt

i love baby harmony and drybee naps, they are both pocket nappies....don't like fuzzi's and tweedles sit funny on my 2...also like peapods which alot of people hate

I should of added that I started using cloths when Josh was 5 months old so didn't use them when he was a newborn. And we went straight into mediums.

i disagree with pockets being best for newborns. my newborn has leaked out of all but one of her pockets, and that was baby harmony.

Out of the smalls that we had..

Fuzzis: they were pretty good but found they didn't always hold in that lovely breastmilk poo explosions
Tweedles: were awesome, the elastic stayed snug against his legs and never leaked anything but now that hes older they arent nearly as good
Monkey Doodlez: they were my fav nappy bag nappy. They are an AIO and I got boosters for them, nice and trim so didnt take up much space in my bag!

In mediums I've just tried too many lol.. my favs though..

Foxybots: hehe of course since I made them so I am biased but they work really well and are interesting!
Wigglebums: they are a good standard sort of nappy that I just found worked really good for us
Baby Harmony: again worked really well, liked the different fleece options that she has, but the sizing for mediums I think is a bit on the small side.

And we have a happy heiny one size which we love, but mostly because its cow print, daniel has figured out how to work velcro so I don't use it often now.

I like pockets too, well that is is all I have tried.

Tweedles are cheap and they do work on littlier babies (well they are a pain now on Josh).

Fuzzi's are great with Josh as well.

Foxybots I love (and i'm not biased).

Also can you sew??? What about making some yourself they work out so much cheaper.

I prefer pocket nappies for daytime as they're easy to use, are quick-drying, slim-fitting, and you can adjust the absorbency to fit your baby's needs. Brands I'd recommend are Fuzzi Bunz, Honeychild, Foxybots and Itti Bitti D'lish (techniqually an AIO as the inserts snap into the cover, rather than sit in a pocket).

Now that Leo's older (21mths) and weeing more at nights (he sleeps 12-13hrs overnight and was wetting through every pocket combination I tried) I prefer a fitted nappy with cover or longies (lanolized knitted pants) for nights as the absorbency level is better and you have 2 layers to prevent leaks. My favourite fitted nappy for nights is a Designer Bums hemp fitted with bamboo booster - they're trim through the legs and fast-drying because the bosters fold-over and snap in but they are SUPER absorbent (layers of hemp, microfibre & bamboo) - and are gorgeously hand-dyed in lovely bright colours

Honestly I would have to say our Fuzzibunz. We have been using the small on Sam since she was about 4 weeks old and they are still going strong. They are good for day and night, don't leak , dry quick and are cute, cute, cute!!!
Oh, and now that she is bigger and wee's more at night I have just started putting a cover over the top and any leaking problems have been fixed.
