With my first attempt at VBAC I was told to go in as soon as I was sure it was labour. So I did & the clock started ticking as soon as I was admitted & then my time was up so another c-section.
With the second attempt (VBA2Cs) I was told to go in when in established labour... Yep any sign of labour here, although the trouble was that I had a very long first stage because baby was posterior. They listen to the baby's heartbeat heaps and also put you on the CTG machine for 1/2 hr at a time, every so often. Will have to wait and see what they say I guess, with Leah went from nothing to contractions 2 mins apart in 3.5 hrs so maybe going in early. I see an OB in 3 weeks so I will have to start writing all these things down so I don't forget.

Obstetricians in masterton said have to go in as soon as any sign of labour and be continuosly monitored. This leaves you somewhat restricted in movement. I did stand for most of it but coudn't really walk anywhere. As for when I did go in it was 24hrs after contractions started and I started getting another pain during contractions that was sharp so mw an I (mw was at my house with me) thought it time to head into hospital and make sure all was well. Different LMC's have different opinions as do the obstetricians. A middlemore one came down to relieve in masterton at one stage and said I should stay home as long as possible.

For those who have tried for VBAC, when did you you go to the hospital (if at all) to be monitored in labour? My MW said I need to be monitoed during labour (laying down)but how far into labour and what do they do?
