I had the same mirror and got so annoyed with it that I ended up just wedging it between the seat and the headrest facing Sam.  It meant that at lights etc i could turn around and see what she was doing. I wanted to keep her facing rear for alot longer but the tantrums from not being able to see us were getting unbearable.  ]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=10411">caraMel</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 18562<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 25 June 2008 at 3:06pm<br /><br />We have a station wagon too, we did have a mirror in front of him when he was little, it velcroed onto the seat, but once he got bigger he kept kicking it off.<br />I can't see him when I'm driving but I can generally tell by talking to him, singing etc that he's okay and if he doesn't respond chances are he's nodded off.<br />He's on the passenger side of the car so I can see by turning around, how he's sitting and the position of his head, if he is asleep.<br />Also, because I have an older daughter, she will often tell me (in a nice loud voice, doh!) 'Muuuuuuum, Benjy's gone to sleeeeeeep!']]>

If so how? I like to be able to see what Jack is doing, if he is asleep etc. We have a mirror on a bendy extendable arm but the suction cup comes off the window. (He's 22 months)<br />Safety experts recommend keeping them rear facing as long as they fit safely in the seat that way because if you were in an accident they are much better protected. Particularly their wee heads, necks and spines.<br />I'd leave him if it were me, but plenty of people do turn them around 1 year of age.<br /><br /><br />]]>

The website for the manufacturer says that it is 85cm as that is the length of the test dummy they used. I want to wait till he is 85cm as per the manufactureres instructions but he is only about 76cm so it will be 6mths easy before he is long enough.<br /><br />A friend of Jack's who is 2 days younger has the same seat and she has been forward facing since well before 1yr and she is probably approx. the same weight and length as Jack.<br /><br />I don't like not being able to see him and the mirror we use keeps falling off the window. So I want to turn him round but am worried about doing so against the instructions. <br /><br />What would you do? Would you turn the seat around? Am I worrying too much about the possibility of having an accident? ]]>
