good to hear that the physical side is getting better and that you have a supportive doc.

I have had two natural mc, and even though it's so intense I would choose the same again if it came to it (hope not!!!)

The first I didn't see anyone, no docs or anyone. That was HARD! Didn't realise how hard until now really.

Second time I had the support of midwife, doc and hospital - so my body got to do its own thing but help was still on hand.

So I am glad you spoke with your doc! I think even knowing that they know and are supportive can really help .

Thanks ladies...

I'm doing ok. I think I am physically over the worst of it, spoke to the doc today while I was taking Kaia in and she was happy to leave me to it if I was feeling well.

So all is alright at the moment, am keeping myself alrert if I start feeling sick (difficult as we all have THAT flu here!) but I'm ok.

So, so sorry to hear you are going through this.

The other issue to be careful about is ectopic pregnancy, which can be very serious. This tends to show up as bleeding prior to about six weeks gestation I think. I had a miscarriage and then another biochemical one.

With the first one the dr wanted to do a D/C which I refused to see what will happen. Second one I already had my gynae and she wanted me to go natural (as it was biochemical)

Big thing to check out for is sleeping a pad through in 2 hours go to the hospital as you will be loosing blood to fast.

Second thing when there is bleeding I really suggest rather go to a dr just to make sure it is an mc. I cant stress this enough. I had huge bleeding with McKayla and thought it was just another mc but went in and she was fine. Bleeding was away from her and it was a "twin" that I lose. As McKayla had a heartbeat already I was put on progesterone. There is quite a high percentage of woman that have heavy bleeding which in fact is just a sign for something else that needs help in the pregnancy and you can prevent a threatened mc.

If you do decide to rather wait and you have any fever go and see someone immediately it will be a sign of infection and you will need to sort that out asap.

So sorry for your loss

I miscarried naturally and my gp wanted to keep a close eye on me. I phoned to tell him it had started (I had had blood tests and scan etc and was waiting to see if it would happen naturally or if I would need a d&c) but he wanted me to come in so he could check me over, and then gave me the emergency numbers of who to contact over night or over the weekend should things start going wrong and explained what is normal and what should raise alarm bells.

I personally would see the doc just to be sure, they most likely won't do anything as they now prefer it to happen naturally if possible but they will be able to check you over etc.

Hi Anna

I am not sure of the answer to your questions, BUT I have just gone thru a miscarriage in the last two weeks and I would suggest running it past your Doctor. Like the others have said, it is important to make sure you miscarry completely, otherwise it can lead to complications later on.

Apparently the minipill is more likely to make you m/c than the pill itself (rare). Were you on the full pill?

You can let it run its own course, should take a week or two but if it lasts longer than 2 weeks or you have any worries about it, go see a GP at that point. The pill won't make you m/c, Maya was a pill baby and I didn't stop taking it till I found out I was preg.

And no, you don't need to do anything if you don't want to (unless, as Stacey said, you are RH- in which case you need an Anti D shot) as long as you are happy that it is a complete miscarriage. Just keep an eye out for unusual/nasty cramps or pains, clots or offensive smelling discharge which might be signs of infection, or if the bleeding gets too heavy (more than one pad per hour) or goes on for longer than around 7-10 days.

i would say go to the doctors, because if this is your second miscarriage, (if unfortunatley you end up with another miscarriage), then because its your third they will start to investiagate why.

if its not documented then im not sure if they will.

Unless you have RH neg blood (in which case you would need an anti d shot) I don't see why you would need to go to the docs if you are happy to let it run its course.

Hiya Ladies,

Haven't posted for such a long time but I need help now and am hoping you ladies can help?

Have had one miscarriage and am miscarrying again, I didn't know I was pregnant straight away and was on the pill, can the pill make you miscarry?

And my second question, if I feel ok and prefer to miscarry naturally is there any reason to go to the doctor? I don't want a scan or bloods done un less it is needed? I am assuming that if things go wrong then I won't feel so well?
