I did what CuriousG did - put her in knickers, took her to daycare and let them get on with it. Worked brilliantly, she was fully day trained within a couple of weeks. eek i didnt think about the undies thing....OMG i hope i can finn some small enough...she has skinny wee hips!

Steph - her room is 18 months to 3 years or so (they move up from there depending on development into the final room). She is ready - as i said in the other threaddshe will tell us - well demand by sitting on the change mat and bringing us the nappy and wipes to be changed even if a little wet as she wont poop in a wet nappy...well if she has to she will but she dont like it!

she also hates a wet butt - hence why she didnt last in cloth long at all....she has at least 5-9 changes of naps per day....and she tells us when she needs a change now a lot!

I don't think it really matters how old or young they are as long as they are ready and willing. If they're not ready it doesn't matter who trains tries to them or what methods they use, it will just be unpleasant for all concerned

My girls aren't in dc full time so I just used to let them know when the girls were having good days or bad, or to keep an eye on them/ask more regularly when they were sick as they seem to have less control.  Maybe ask them how they go about it and see if you can make some things regular at home as well eg when they ask/take to toilet whether before or after eating  and at what time intervals just so you can keep a bit of continuity. Wow they TT them that early? Or is Ella going to be in a room with kids a bit older than her?

I don't think I'd have much success if I was to try and TT Lucas now...I always thought 2yo was when you should start them? (or maybe I'm thinking of boys )

I'm not a DC mummy by a long shot but I'd prob stick with their way of doing things as they would have a lot of experience in that field.

I let DC do most of it. The only thing I did was tell them that Andrew was ready and that he was in undies when we turned up one day.

Id say leave it to DC. They have a lot of experience in TTing.

We left them to it and they basically TT Charlotte! Its fantastic. They have their own routines at DC because they have a whole bunch of kids doing it so I really think you asking them to stick to your routine might be a bit silly.

Just be prepared for a lot of accidents. It took us about 3 weeks (and LOADS AND LOADS of washing) but it was so worth it!

Ok so in a month ella goes into the next room at DC and they WILL toilet train in that room....and she is sooo ready for it!

Should I leave them to it or demand they stick to a routine i want...I mean they have her 5 days a week and I have her 2....so quite different struture than being at home....

they will do whatever.....
