I find mine fine, took quite some time for the insert to be fully effective (a lot more washes than recommended) but are really good now.

Bought mine mid 2008 I suppose. Have 11 med and 6 large - I think my girl is going to move into the large well before training but then she does have a nice round girly-bum

I have both hemp and bamboo inserts and absolutely love the hemp! I don't find the bamboo soaks wees any better than the hemp but they take at least 3 times as long to get dry when washing. Does anyone know how I can get more of their hemp inserts? My original peapods that I brought for Zoe were great. But the second lot are horrible. They've changed the fabric and now they leak through the pul and and the seams. Its not the inserts that cause mine to leak but the actual nappy. i have about 24 smalls and 12 Med. I have a washing schedule so that i always have clean dry inners as welll as the pocket part.
Monday: colours
tuesday: whites
Wednesday : colours

Etc and in the winter when we satrted using them i still managed to get all the inners dry at 8 nappy changes a day.

- I have noticed with a couple of mine the dark green and lime. the pul is slightly diff the the others i tink they have changed the fabirc a bit. and those were the ones that leaked. Having just read some things on bamboo and hemo inserts it says that they soak up the urine slowly but hold alot so maybe you could put a microfibre booster in so it soaks the urine fast and then the bamboo can slowly soak it from there.

Does what I say make any sense?

I used fuzzi bunz with my lachie and when it came to toilet training they had seen better days and i bought a coulple of pea pods...they were not as good as the fuzzis and leaked a bit and the fit was not quite as good. that was a year and a half ago.

 i  pea pods thats all we are using. except a sposie if we go out shopping for a long time. i find them brilliant no leaks and they wash great. and R has no nappy rash which he did get when we were just using sposies before when his butt was too weeny. i've got a um crazy cheeks or what ever it is but it looks useless for 30bucks

I have my 20 moth old twins in peapods all day (sposie at night) I have found them to be excellent, they dont leak-if you change them regularly bout 4 hourly, and no poo leaks either. they are comfortable and easy to wash and dry. Just remember that sometimes 'cheaper' doesn't always equal 'best value'. I haven't tried Pea Pods myself but I've read really mixed reviews, especially in regard to the quality of the PUL (waterproof fabric) used. I'd recommend getting only a couple to try and compare against a couple of other brands - possibly some mass produced, such as Fuzzi Bunz, Honeychild, BumGenius & Itti Bitti, and some WAHMS, such as Foxybots, Baby Harmony and Tweedle. If you only get one or two of each you can see how they perform against each other and buy more of the ones you like (and sell on the ones you don't).

We've used them on Caleb since he was four weeks old and they've worked well for us. They are cheap and effective. We don't have leaks but have added boosters and things as Caleb has gotten older. The bamboo ones are way better and we now use them with a booster as Caleb is doing bigger wees.

They are probably the most cost effective of all the msn's at $20 each although we wait until they are 3 for $35 or 3 for $50. I have heard they are not the best quality but ours still look ok one year on. You are limited on colours but I really like the colours we have and boy stuff is pretty boring anyway.

i agree...you either love them or hate them........i used them for a while without any problems. they were the first cloth nappy i had and i still have the hemp trifold inserts which i use overnight, i love those!
there are better nappies out there but it really depends on how much you want to spend on a nappy.
