As for recommendations, i havent tried many different types but we have a growing stash of Itti bittis and Honey Child and we love them both! I just got a stash of Fuzzis for my nearly 3 year old who refuses the potty. He slept in them last night for the first time, with a insert and a super soaker hemp insert and there were no leaks. He is a very heavy wetter too.

Personally, I prefer to get 3-4hrs out out of my nappies. At about your son's age I found my nappies were only lasting around 2hrs so I started adding a booster to get us back to 3-4hrs of absorbency.

krisha... I think I was doing it once every few months or so.

What you can do to check is run some water onto the fleece and see if it pools or is absorbed straight through the fleece.

If it pools then it's a build up issue that can be resolved (for a while) by stripping... if it absorbs through then it might be a sizing issue or absorbency issue (among other things!) that is causing leaks.

Hope that helps! And as far as recommendations go.... a hire kit?? That might help suss out what sort of system and brands work best for you. there are heaps of cute nappies around the place. I have one sewn in and 3 snap in and I find they take the same time to dry, the hempy bit of the snap in takes as long as the sewn in bit (hope that makes sense).
I want to get some more d'lish for new bubba but DH isn't convinced yet. Ooo I love the sewn ins too def our faves and find they fit Jack a bit better than the snap ins.

I have been using the snap ins for a while and recenty got some new ones and did notice the old ones aren't as fluffy but if you don't have new ones to compare you cannot tell. Are the inserts sopping, or is it a fit issue? My only guess would be the fit, if the legs aren't done up snug enough, or he needs to upsize? They are awesome nappies. I am only sad that Isaac toilet trained, and was pretty much out of naps when I started stocking them. I think, like Emma I would have gone for these when Isaac was younger, out of ease of use for sure. I also loved trim nappies, but everything really trim seemed to leak . These nappies just seem to take all that is thrown at them

It had to happen sooner or later, I just listed 50 of them on TM for $1 reserve!

Minky outer nappies shouldn't wear over time if you wash in cold or warm water. Actually I was surprised to hear my DH comment yesterday (when changing a D'lish) "These are daddy's favourite nappies" - when I asked why he said that they were the easiest to put on! We also have Fuzzis, HC, Foxybots & BG so that's a pretty good recommendation. I actually thought he might be put off by the snap in inserts (they can be a bit fiddly compared with pocket nappies) but he said he loves them. The Bitti D'lish are awesome! Although were getting the snap in ones to aid with drying times. I have just got one to test it out but am convincing hubby that we NEED to get at least 6 more... although im trying for a dozen. They are so soft and beautiful and super absorbent. Does anyone know if the outside material wears well over time though?

Nope sorry Vanessa, all meds Am getting a dozen med Bittis and a dozen larges, so half for lil miss and half for the gremlins that can get handed down to lil miss later on.

I am selling all my nappies!

It had to happen sooner or later, I just listed 50 of them on TM for $1 reserve!

I've decided to get rid of all of them and stock up on the Bitti D'lish sewn ins as they're the best I've tried in terms of ease of use and absorbency - minimum fuss, just like a sposie only you have to wash them. So I've ordered 2 doz from Karyn and now selling all the rest to pay for them.
