Maybe they mean the average weight for children of that age in that area and of that race? They may just be smaller/slimmer 'people'. Yeah I would have thought the average 11 month old was way more than that.

Harry's 9kg at 7months, yeah he's big for his age but he's only in the 75th percentile for weight, so not right at the top. But then we looked at my plunket book at the weekend and I was 9kg at a year. yeah I would have thought your average 11 month old would be 8-10kgs? my girl is just under 8kgs and she's 9 months old.

Poor wee thing My five year old is only 25kg.
