Ilove these ones so nice Ma got me some from farmer they were really pricy tho.

Most of my breastpads have only microfleece as the waterproof layer, and I've never leaked through the middle, only ever leaked thru the sides when really full and that would have happened with PUL too. My Keela breastpads have a lovely wool waterproof layer.

Also I find that PUL backing slips in my bra. Microfleece and wool does not.

I'm another who prefers cotton on top. Hi, thought i would add i made some for my SIL today and her bub is 4 days old, and she jsut rung to say how nice and comfy they are! And they were soaked and had no leaks at all, very happy.

Im going to be adding them to my website tomorrow :D

I started with the plain "Baby First" ones ($7 for 6) - at first they were rubbish cos I had way too much milk. Now my milk has settled down a bit, they are better but need to be changed regularly. I also got some PeaPods ones from Baby Factory and really like them ($15 for 6). They get more absorbant the more you wash them, and I can usually wear them for 12 hours with no problem. we do contoured breast pads that are made out of the same material as our nappies - all very high quality an absorbent
They're PUL backed so won't leak. $12 a pair

I found that a cotton top was better when I was breastfeeding. This is an interesting thread as I'm going to give washable breast pads a go this time. EcoMoon ones are fantastic (that is also trendyvogue on TM) We have them on our site too - they come in 2 sizes and also in light or heavy.



ETA: The ones on our site have PUL backing.

I've got some Foxybots ones (regular and ultra) and some Bee Dezine ones, I like both of them altho the FB ultras are the most absorbent and reliable. I did find the minky stuck to my nipples in the early days when they were a bit grazed and sore tho so I found the Bee Dezine ones better to start with.

I've also tried the Tommee Tippee ones - utter rubbish! I wore two at once on each side and they STILL leaked straight thru!

I wanted to do the "right" thing and bought woolen breastpads.  I was really disapointed - they never stopped leaking (used to not absorb and run straight down and out the bottom), even after lots of washes, so I swapped to disposables and never looked back.

But then again, I think I will try again this time around with the washable ones, but won't be going for the woolen ones...
