Oh gosh I just happened to walk to kitchen when I spotted it and able to stop in time, lucky!!
My 5 years old DS1 was given a sweet on the school bus on the last day of term and ate it....so we had to re-educated him that he must not accept any sweets or food on the bus or give to me once he get off school bus for check.
I wish all my children and my husband are NOT allergic to food for easy cooking, easy shopping and easy outing without hassles.......

Tania, we got two lambs need bottlefeeding too!...DS2 either stay at home or I put him in the back carrier, out of way! He love watching lambs.

I woke up feeling a lot better for starters, but then there was a morning tea shout (random, not a birthday, so unexpected) and my boss bought me a GF goodie cause I couldn't have what they had

They don't last long, then things are back to 'normal'. I had a moment after being sick and tired of having to pack a dinner for Ella whenever we visit friends and family for dinner - I just wanted a night off cooking!!! And seems that some families think nothing's edible without butter on it.

But then you get the lovely things happening... mum making all of Ella's dinner and foods for her first sleepover and all I had to pack was her formula (the first time I've had an evening without planning dairy-free food), and a birthday party where the cook made half the food Ella-friendly. Gestures like that make your week, and you don't forget them in a hurry, but the pity parties are over and done with and eventually forgotten.

Ringing the allergy doc tomorrow cos somedays i feel like the poor child only eats rice or foods made mostly from rice.

Oh and he wouldn't eat the pasta I made him so he had a banana for dinner

So hopefully ranting helps and tomorrow is a new day and all that carry on.

    Author: busymum
Subject: 21388
Posted: 02 October 2008 at 8:39pm

How do you manage to get through these? I've had a dreadful day - well it wasn't that bad but I just am feeling really low about it. I went to Countdown to get some gluten free muffin bakes at lunch time but after checking three aisles, they don't have any. (Kinda strange because Pak n Save have them!) Anyway I didn't do very well with it at all. I exited Countdown with two bags of chippies, two blocks (not bars) of chocolate and a bag of lollies - and then proceeded to eat almost a whole bag of chippies for lunch. Oh and an apple LOL. Then to get the taste of chippies out of my mouth, I had chocolate, chocolate, and then hot chocolate!

Things just got to me today. Earlier this week I went to lunch with a friend at a cafe and my only choice was a GF sandwich with salad (a no-no considering I am pregnant), heated meat (again cause I'm pregnant), no mayo (cause I can't be bothered checking the ingredients all the time).... and to top that off, there are some foods that my pregnant body is yelling NO about! (Red meat, corn crackers, etc.)

Sorry I guess I just needed to whinge. But how do you get yourself over the "I hate being allergic/intolerant" days?
