I have contacted companies via online. One campany who deal with Sweet william and Orgran products as well as many other speciality foods have got back to me and posted me information packs about products in depth as well as free sample and free magazines.
Sweet william do make dairy free buttons as well as dairy and nuts free chocolate spread (I didn't know about it!!) and they have provide me list of shops who sell buttons, spread etc. Unfortunately none of them is near my areas, so have to make special trip into city to stock them all up.

Could you use the blender to chop it up? Or do what I do and stick in in a plastic ziplock bag and bash it with a hammer/rolling pin so it's all broken up.

Yes, Pams is only one I know it is dairy-free but it is not strictly dairy-free ie made in factory where milk has been used. My son is unfortunately is very hypersensitivity to trace of milk and had allergy reactions few times to Pams' chocolate drop so we have stopped using them. Ah now I'd be more help if I could remember the brand, but one of the cheap brands of choc chips (not drops) is D/F. Pams, maybe?
