I was the last appointment of the day and so he wasn't in a rush, and we talked for half an hour about my options for the next one.
I am so pleased he has agreed to put me on clomid, asprin, and natural progesterone suppositories - this is a big change from him saying their isn't much else he can do.
He also took the time to really explain LPD, which was very helpful. So now Im hanging out for this mc to be complete so I can try again with the clomid!

The idea being that the luteal phase defect is caused by ovulation not happening properly. Unfortunately, though in the field of recurrent miscarriage it seems there are very few proven treatments. He has explained very little about the causes of luteal phase defect, and even told me off for doing my own research on the internet. He has basically told me all we can do is keep trying, that just seems ridiculous given what they can do with modern medicine. Surely there is something else out there? I asked him about B6 and he said it doesnt work, I have also read that accupuncture can maybe help - time for some alternative therapies I think.
Does anyone know a good obs/gyn in the Wellington Lower Hutt area?

Still nothing with regards to this pregnancy. I think that basically it means the the pregnancy is probably not viable although no one knows for sure yet. On the internet (particularly at a site called misdiagnosedmiscarriage.com) there are first hand stories about people who have found a fetus with a heart beat after seeing an empty sac at 8 weeks or later, so this does happen occasionally. Unfortunately for me, my hcg levels started to drop which confirmed the loss. This was also my third loss so I have some idea of the anguish that goes with repeated losses.

Please take care of yourself.
