Do you really think calling another clinic would work? Where would we call? We are in ChCh. I would have thought that doing a phone consult would result in the 'we can do better come up to us' and there's no way we can afford to do anymore let alone time off to go elsewhere etc.

I'm about to approach DH about going to a natural fertility clinic and trying to do the realm of tests they do and supplements etc as required prior to our next transfer - even if it doesn't help our fertility probs it would definitely help our lifestyle and candidiasis etc we suffer from!

I don't think there's any other clinic in Christchurch so we can't go elsewhere. Last time they told us that the embies decide whether to stick or not, and there's nothing we or they can do (otherwise they'd have a 100% track record and they'd be very happy too). Sux really!

Hi guys, well I'm out. AF arrived this morning. I knew when I woke up - I just woke up thinking "I'm not pregnant" then sure enough. It was quite surreal. So we will be relying on our 2 final frozens (#6 and #7) which will probably be transferred in February.

I do have to say that since May I've been the biggest emotional wreck so I'm looking forward to a couple of months of not thinking about it. It's dam hard.

Hi guys, just an update. I had spotting yesterday morning, which stopped just after lunch and there's been nothing more since. I was so sure AF was arriving that I went out for coffee and thought 'buggar it' but now my hopes are slightly increasing. It's 14 days since collection today, and I believe that's when AF should arrive ..... having lots of AF signs though they could just be pessary related .... 3 days to BT - shall I do a HPT in the meantime? Is 15DPO to early?

Hi Tanners, not sure after TER, I'm trying to think back. I actually think I may have been but then it stopped as I'm sure with all transfers I've been really hot at night. I'm still having it, and 5 days to go till BT. I'm wondering whether I might do a HPT on Tuesday (3 days) if AF hasn't arrived (I've had lots of signs she's coming). I'd just like to know, but then I'd hate if it was a false result.

It sounds like things are going to be all go for you really soon Tanners, that is fantastic - look forward to hearing when you have transfer - yay!!!

Apparently there's some signs of pg i.e. temperature stays up, cervix stays high and closed but I think it varies between people, and it's going to extremes to try and track all that. I'm really just taking every day as it comes as from now I can't do anything else!!

Oh well, tomorrow will be 4 days and that will be 4 days to your BT and scan too!

Yeah I'd never really noticed before either until talking with DH who was laughing how 'hot' I was in bed  

I'm not anticipating it's a pg sign for me, too early, as BT isn't until next Thursday (8 days to go). But thought it was interesting, and wondered if anyone else had noticed it. They told me to take panadol if my temperature got high, so thought this time I'd keep monitoring it (esp when it felt so hot there) and go down the panadol route right through.

We managed to get 2 embryo's successfully frozen at cleavage stage (think thats around 6-cell, day 3). So there's still plan D, if #4 and #5 haven't hatched and attached this time. But I'm sure they will have (power of positive thinking at work).

I'm talking to them anyway, and making DH do the same - hehe, anyone'd think we're nuts if they saw us  especially when they realise we are carrying crystals around in our pockets!?*

Hi guys, just checking in here, gonna copy a post I put in another thread just to see if any of you have an opinion ....

Have any of you noticed increased temps? TMI but when inserting pessaries, I've noticed it's really hot, and when it is, I check my temp and it's often up around 37.5. I then take panadol to try to keep it down cos I know it's not good to be too hot 'up there'.

I recall after my last transfers that I initially was quite hot (didn't take temps those times though) but after a while (don't know how long) that stopped. I asked in the 2ww thread, and they said  that the temp generally stays up before pg, so wonder if that's a sign.

Anyway, just wondered if anyone else had noticed that?

Hi Lee, so sorry it was definitely a BFN, I found that both times AF arrived before BT I knew that the BT was just a formality, somehow I just knew. It sux.

I totally know how you feel re: costs etc, you're right probably like most of us! We have paid for 2 private IVF cycles now at $14k a pop (since I need so many drugs), plus a vasectomy reversal, plus a transfer! My DH gets really angry too, but I have to persuade him to look at the bigger picture as the cost will be forgotten once we have our baby (or after it's a few years old!).

For me, my DH felt really guilty he couldn't 'provide' and at times I felt upset that he'd had a vasectomy or that I met him so late. Now that we know my fertility is also a problem I think it has eased both our burdens a bit. But the crux of the matter is that we would never have met if our lives hadn't worked out the way it has, and I couldn't do without him.

It's such a shame that you couldn't get on with another try this cycle!  We did, and I'm trying to work out how now. No we didn't, I think once we knew the transfer was BFN I got them to do day 3 bloods as well, and we booked in to see the specialist ASAP and managed to get in the following month. I hope your specialist can see you quickly - make lots of noises!!!

Make sure you grieve and do nice things together with DH. It's times like these you really need support, and I agree, this forum is fantastic - especially if not many others know what's going on.

Oh Hope1 - no way, that's just gutting. I'm with everyone else, I really hope it is a BFP underneath the AF. Really, really, really, really hope. BFN's are just so hard to deal with and we've all been there, there's not much else we can say, except big s. Look after yourself, and keep us posted. Am thinking of you!
