Dex says the F word ALL THE TIME. Unfortunately he picked it up when I broke my big toe in 2 places a couple of months back. It usually comes out more like FOP but yeah, it's always in context, like when he falls over or drops something.
We usually say it back in a different context, like, Oh Dex it you FLOP over? DS has learnt 2 new words - Sh*t and F**k ... He never says them loud (normally quietly under his breath and we just hear it) and funnily its always in context to what he is doing i.e. getting frustrated with a toy etc. WE've been telling him they are naughty words and then if he repeats it he gets naughty corner. I do worry about that too, Dex throws enough tanties just not getting my undivided attention, let alone it being because of a little human! Ah well. I guess they adjust in their own time. Still terrified at the thought of leaving him for 4-5 days while I'm in hospital. Haven't left him for more than 7 hours yet, and that was a one off on it's own!
Dh says I HAVE to have at least one night away from him before then, otherwise it is just another thing for me to worry about, and I know he's right.
Karen, I know, C section recovery is hard, but I guess for me, I don't know the alternative so it is how it is. I guess if it's your 1st after 5 naturals it would seem even harder though. Lena was the same~ And I was the same too! I ended up in tears when I went to the hosp by myself for tests and they said they might end up inducing me...I hadn't prepared mentally to leave Lena and I was so worried how she'd react not being 'my baby' anymore lol. Ri, you will do fine! The hardest part I find is trying to put them both down to bed when DH isn't here, of course Lena wants to be cuddled and put the bed at the same time as Ash. Thought I'd update the list. It was quite a few pages back. Looks like Rianna is next!

Congratulations on the birth of George, Kazcet. Must have been a bit of a shock having the c/s. I have a friend who had 7 very easy natural births then ended up with an emergency c/s for number 8.

Sebastian is saying alot of words now. Unfortunately the only one who seems to understand 80% of what he says is me. His current thing is calling his Daddy by his first name. DH isn't impressed.

We ended up getting married. It was exactly the way I wanted it. Though now we have the majority of the DH's family not talking to us now. Different people have varying degrees of conspiracy theorys regarding how we did things. The only one who seems to be taking it graceously is my father.

Wow Karen, what a birth story! Hope you and bubs are doing well at home

Everything is good here, Maddi is talking soooo much and repeats everything you say lol. Shes starting to get more sentences now and just amazes me with what she knows.

Baby is growing well I think. I'm definatly finding he's ALOT lazier than what Maddi was. She was always wriggling with big kicks etc, this one is quieter and I get periods of worry when he hasn't really moved that much. Lucky this morning hes doing a wee bit more wriggling but not really the big kicks Maddi did!

Right must go vote for BOTD.

Karen, wow what a labour, sounds like it was loooong. Glad it went well in the end, hope your healing fine with it, must be a bit of shock after having 5 normal births!

I've voted for V Em, she's winning so far. Aislinn is up next week, I'd love to win the sleeping bag but I don't like our chances...I hate most likes comps, lol.

Oh and yup WW is going well for me. Slow going cos I'm breastfeeding so I'm only losing 300-500g a week. But I can fit my wedding rings again (although they're a bit tight).

Ugh, can't be bothered going to coffee group today but its fine so I should go for a walk and I've got things to do in town...

It seems like bad timing to be on baby of the day! up against triplets no less! V is up tomorrow. I will feel bad if she doesn't win because E did when it was her turn by herself.

I feel so bad, it's like I forgot all about this thread, and since my email notifications were all turned off I have no idea you were all still posting!

I'm so proud of you girls who have started WW ... It really DOES work, if your being honest with yourself, and tracking etc. I have lost a total of 20kgs now, with 5 left until I get to my 'new' goal weight. Not far to go :)

Karen, yes I was surprised to hear you had a c/s after 5 normal births, but wow he was so big!! My Mother had my sister naturally and she was 11pounds 1 and 3/4 .. I am truly surprised they had another after that.

Well, those who follow us on FB will be happy to know that the plauge (sicky vomit bug) has FINALLY left our house! Ouch Karen doesn't sound like a nice labour at all and definitly one to make you feel glad about finishing on lol and what a whopper of a bub Lucan is almost 4months and only now just almost at 13lbs and I couldn't imagine having a bub in me around that size. Is he your biggest yet then ? and by much?

Someone asked me way back about Aneiras anxiety to the bath and I am not sure if I replied but we believe it could be that when she was about 1 we were in chch and she was in the bath when an earthquake hit and she fell under the water and it took a wee bit for us to grab her as everyone fell over at the same time, however she did come right with the bath for a bit and then lost the plot over it again and nothing happened that time.

Georges Birth Story.

Monday- started having pre-labour contractions about 7 mins apart at 6 pm. Went to bed at 10 pm and slept till 2am. Contractions were stronger but still 7 mins apart. By 7 am things had slowed down and all day Tuesday I had irregular, increasingly painful contractions. At 4:30 pm my waters broke a little. But after cleaning up and putting on new pants, a pad and getting a towel to sit on, I went and sat on the couch cuddled up with my daughter. Next thing I had a huge contraction and the rest of my waters went wetting my daughter and the couch. Straight away my labour changed to intense contractions 3 mins apart. After about half an hour we decided to move to the hospital as I wanted to get in the bath. Midwife thought we were quite far along and expected a baby by 8 pm. Contractions got stronger and every 2 mins lasting a min and a half (30 seconds to breathe between them)
Moved around a lot and by 9 pm got out of the bath as i had made no progress and midwife checked me. I was 8 cm dilated but an odd lip on the side of the cervix. I started asking for an epidural but anesthetist was busy in an emergency so I had to wait. Started using gas and eventually had something else in my drip to help me. Anesthetist showed up at midnight, boy was I glad to see her. They checked me again thinking maybe I did not need the epidural, but I was still 8 cm and no change. So after four attempts, finally at 1 pm the epidural started to work.
I got a few hours sleep and at 4 am the obstetrician came to check me. Still no change, so he started a Syntocinon drip. He came back to check at 8 am. Still no change, so he turned up the Syntocinon as high as it would go. I could now feel the contractions at the top of my stomach.
At 10 am Wednesday morning, the obstetrician decided that with no cervical change and baby showing signs of distress, we would have a c-section. So with much pulling and weird sensations George was pulled into the world (through the sun roof) At 12:10 pm on 27/7/11.
Obstetricians first comment was “It’s a bruiser” And we caused quite a stir with the biggest baby born for over 6 months, weighing in at 11lbs 14 ozs. There was no way he could have ever been born vaginally as he had a very swollen part of his head that was stuck and there was alot more head than that! His head circumference was 38 cm.
After 5 normal births I am in shock about the C-section.

Hey all sorry I haven't been around in ages I have been so busy that when I do get on line I do a quick facebook check and trade me and thats t most of my facebook is done via my cell.

We are algood, Aneira is sleeping with absolutely no probs in her big girl bed now and started daycare last week she will just be going for 2 afos a week too give me some time to do things like groceries. I thought she would have real troubles with daycare but she loved it and had no problems with me being gone.

School hols now so I will have all 4 home 24/7 I have signed the boys up for swimming lessons so have to go to them every morn at 9:20am for 45mins, should be fun lol. I have also foolishly agreed to both the boys being allowed to have a mate sleep over, I think they got me in a moment of weakness

Lucan is also doing good, he has got to be the most smiliest, happiest and talkative bub I have ever come across. He only cries when he is hungry or if you put him in his bed during the day otherwise he just cruises, he will lie on his mat for ages, sleep in his carseat and quite happily cruise out talking away to anyone who will listen and talk back lol Its good he is like that cos if you remember I said awhile back the DH wasn't bothering with him much, well now he is all over Lucan because of the way Lucan is.

Aneira is obsessed with hi 5 she loves it and dances and sings away, she knows all the moves to the dances and does them all before the actual actors do in the song lol and cracks up laughing and looking at us to react the same at what she considers the funny bits.

I actually went out last night for a mates 30th and it was a great night we were hoping hubby could go to but mum was sick and the chick whos 30th it was had stole my babysitter lol so he had to stay behind but was still an awesome night and didn't get in til almost 3, then Lucan decided to wake early so that was fun lol.

Yay for great scans! I always convince myself theres something wrong, even now if I don't feel bubs for a few hours lol. Have had a really heavy feeling in the bottom of my bump lately, sort of achey, maybe the extra weight and streching, hoping so!

Miss M had a cold, hate it when she gets sick and snuffly.

Ekkkk 2nd bithdays are fast approaching, not really sure what we will do probably same as last year with the family (which is pretty damn large!) Scan today went really well, YAY!!! I had pretty much talked myself into there being problems before I went in, just after having a few wierd things happen, but NOPE, all is fine and sprout was going crazy bouncing all over the place. So relieved!
Will post a pic once I have a chance to pop them on FB, then will move them here too.
In other news, I managed to break my big toe last night It is so so so sore. So I am hobbling around in a moon boot type thing and can take nothing stronger than panadol of course.

Nothing really - I have taken the day off work and Mum, Dad and I will have a special lunch with the girls, and then they go to Marks for the weekend. So just something small but special.

August is going to be full on as it is - first weekend I am in Taupo for a work conference, second weekend is their birthday, and third weekend is my last day at work, plus getting everything packed to go to Aussie for our two week holiday. Then once we get back, I start my new job three days after we get back, and it's my birthday the day after I start my new job. I am going back to almost full-time work - Mon to Fri, 9am-4pm. Not really looking forward to having the girls in care for the whole day, I'm going to miss out on so much but needs must I guess. Hello everyone! Yes we are all well. I've been keeping up to date reading all the posts but just don't have the time to post anymore. Congrats to all of you that are pregnant - brave brave people! We're far off even considering another - perhaps when Jaxon is about 4. It's a lot of hard work and we'd need to be financially stable enough for me not to work (currently I'm doing 2 days a week, and increasing to 3 days once Jaxon turns 2). We will definitely have another one day, just not anytime soon

What is everyone doing for the 2nd birthdays? Nothing really new here. I think my waters have been leaking. I keep getting a watery odd smelling discharge thats not normal mucus. Yay for scan Tigerish, very stink that DH can't go, always made me nervous going to stuff like that without support.

Will be interesting to see how big bubs is Karen - those measurement things aren't always accurrate, could be a massive healthy placenta or fluid in there not a massive bubba, who knows.

Yay Fallen! Well done! Is Hailey exclusively breastfed? I'm just wondering whether the points they've given me is too much, I don't seem to need to eat too differently.

A toughie on the wedding thing but exciting! I suppose if you can fit in what he wants (like my DH would have been peeved if his brother wasn't there) then it would be a nice suprise for him for sure. Perhaps mention the wedding again to gage how he would feel if it happened earlier?

Kyra I signed up at WW last week! It was after seeing Emily's photos on FB. I lost 3.2kg in a week.

Kazcet have your other babies measured big? I think its sometimes how they're lying in there.

We're doing okay here. Sebastian is hard work, but so cheeky and cute. Hailey is steadily putting on weight and has just started smiling. She is getting Christened next weekend. DF's Aunty and cousin are coming over from Australia for it. DF doesn't know they are coming yet, we thought it would be a fantastic surprise for him. But.. DF and I have talked about getting married when his aunty is here. She had plans on coming later in the year or early next. It would be awesome to do it while she is here, but I don't feel right planning it without his knowledge. I'm not sure what to do. Any ideas?

We're just wanting a registry office wedding. I've got the forms and have spoken to the registry office person and they have space on 22/7 which would be the best day to do it. But need to book in soon or the space will likely be taken. Argh!!

Not too much going on here, Maddi is growing lots, talking more and more. We've been trying to do lots of things during the day to tire her out like swimming, park, kicking a ball round, kiddy gym. Seems to be working and shes back to going down at 7:30-8pm each night with no hassle and just talks to her teddys before she falls asleep, long may it last!

Tummy growing well, feeling lots of kicks and stuff and trying to take the time at night or when I get quiet time to enjoy all the movement and kicks like I did with Maddi, lol.

They haven't tested liver functions since I had it removed. I had my gallbladder out when Sebastian was 6 weeks old. I've never had the agony type pain again. But occassionally it does get a bit sore in that area. I don't think its ever been sore enough to take anything though. Have you had your liver functions tested recently? It's hard aye Ri! We were kinda using timeout but it's sort off turned into us putting her in her room and saying she can come out when she's ready. It seems to work and now if she's been told-off she'll sometimes go put herself in her room, lol.

Awww, poor H Tigerish, that stage is never easy.

I can't remember who on here has had their gallbladder out? A question for those who do, have you ever gotten the pain again? I've been getting it again for the last week or so, it's not really bad like it was before the surgery but it's definetly uncomfortable enough to take nurofen. H is still having a day sleep of around an hour to an hour and a half. He still really needs it though so it seems unlikely to be the problem. I think it's some degree of separation anxiety since DH is away and some just being a monkey. I hate saying it, but I hope the sleep phase ends soon! Last night was good and tonight was looking ok too but he's just started crying again *sigh*.

With tantrums, we just ignore them. I generally walk away and say "come and see Mummy when you have calmed down", which doesnt usually take very long. If its a tantrum about having a shower then I just carry him (very awkwardly) up the stairs then put him down on the floor and walk away until he has finished his tantrum. They dont normally last very long, thank god, but I imagine they will get worse before they get better.

We've started using time out, well, we call it the naughty corner or naughty room. If he is naughty we sit him in the corner or room (bathroom) for approx 1 minute. Then when we get him we say "sorry Mummy/Daddy for throwing the books" and he will generally say "sorry Mummy/Daddy" and give us a cuddle. He's not saying the full sentence just yet though.

Aneira is the Queen of tantrums, I either ignore her or if it gets too bad I put her in her room for time out.

Aneira has decided that all of a sudden for no reason she hates the bath, nothing has happened she just hates it and it is a nightmare to get her in the bath.

Best thing to do with the tantrums is to completely ignore them! Especially if it's over you saying to wait or no. With Lena they escalated when we first started ignoring them as she was trying harder to get our attention.

Is H still having day naps Tigerish? Could they be affecting his night time sleep?

Hannah, I'm having the same sleep problems with H. This is the second night in a row that its taken to 9.30pm for him to go to sleep and he also wakes up all night, and early in the morning. He was such a great little sleeper before too. Not fun. Friends are telling me to give up and put him back in the cot but I really don't want to! Hopefully we'll crack it soon, its been three weeks...

H's tantrums have mostly slowed down lately too. We are having major problems getting DD to sleep, put her to bed and it takes an hour for her to drift off. Last night I tried to just leave her (instead of sitting in heer room waiting till she finally falls asleep) and she was up getting books, drawing and playing Otherwise she crys, throws tantys etc. Really doing my heead in.

She has also just learnt about tanties in the last two days, crying and throwing herself round when shes told to wait or doesn't get her way lol. Yay for a girl Ri!

We had some issues with Lena waking 3 or 4 times a night and just crying for me - I'd go in and resettle her but it was getting tiring! Figured out that her nightlight had slowly gotten dimmer and dimmer and realised it wasn't actually lighting up her room anymore. Got a new nightlight and she's back to sleeping good again! Feel a little bit stink cos I left her for about 10mins one night after she kept getting up for 2 hours, whoops.

Tonight was the first night in a long time that we havent had any major issues. He did get up once and was crying but once I put him back into bed he was off to ni ni's.

Aneira is going awesome in her big girl bed not really have too many problems at all, she wakes in the night and cries at the gatebut we just tell he to get back into bed and lie down and she does lol. More probs during the day as she keeps falling asleep on the floor lol.

Ha, ha Keoedy, I'm still lurking here. Mainly due to my other due thread! Glad the bed is going well. We are still having dramas here but it is slowly getting better. I am getting used to an hour to get him to sleep, then a middle of the night resettle (doesn't seem to take long), then a 6am start. Aneira has had her first day in her big girl bed, first attempt was successful but this second one isn't going so well lol, hopefully tonight will be good. I have filled up her cot with her toys so no going back lol.

Argh, my ird money has stopped because I havn't been able to fill in my ird sdtuff, but I couldn't fill it out because his birth cert hasn't arrived yet even though they cashed the cheque well over a month ago, so rang births, deaths and marriages and they haven't done it cos for some weird reason they didn't have his birth place, which I wrote on the form, but they hadn't bothered to ring and tell me this yet they cashed my cheque wtf, some of us rely on this extra money that we are now not getting.

Watched Keaton play rugby today and he got an awesome try and got player of the day, woohoo.

Lucan good had plunket they asked me if I was concerned about his weight and I said empthatically NO so they are leavin it for now but she said they would keep an eye on it, seriously how many kids do I have to have before they except that I just have small babies that don't grow quick. Very frustrating. Lucan still will nmot sleep in his bassinet during the day it is driving me insane I don't have the time to be with him all day.
I'm off for an ice skating trip with Keatons syndicate soon not sure if I am looking forward to that or not lol.

Aneira and Lucan both have colds here and Coedy has started wetting himself, thinking it may be kidneys as Aneira, me and my dad all have kidney problems, hope it isn't but we are taking him to the doc on monday to check it out.

Yeah we all good first one wasn't so bad kids were asleep second one not as good. I knew iut was coming because I was watching tv and they were interviewing a guy in chch and it hit and he was saying it was a biggy and I thought bugger that is coming and then a few seconds later it hit, was a weird feeling sitting here knowing it was coming and it was going to be strong but not knowing how strong. Aneira was up and that one went for quite awhile it started off rocking had and then went to swaying then harder rocker and then swaying again, Aneira started crying and ran over to me for a cuddle, I sat there for a bit thinking this might be going to get worse as it didn't stop and started to think maybe I should get the bub up too. Afterwards we had to go get the boys from school and it seriously felt like the gound was swaying for ages. Then in the car I kept thinking everytime the kids rocked or bumped the car that there was another earthquake coming. DH's building was evacuated as he works on the 6th floor of a 7 floor building, he said it was horrible up there some of the workmates were crying etc. After having to evacuate for the third quake they decided to evacuate the building for the day, so he was home early much to his relief I think as he was calling us after every quake to check we were ok lol.

Really feel for the chch pep tho eh cos we getting a few bad ones that knock things off shelves and walls etc but they getting ones that knock fridges over and that must suck, plus while we get alot of earthquakes aftershocks etc we don't get all the ones they are. We get enough to be frustrating as hell and for alot of people in Timaru are getting quite stressed and scared but it is nothing compared to what they go through and you can tell it is starting to effect our children so i can only imagine how their kids are feeling

Dex has loads of words, but is only just starting to put them together, just a couple of 2 word phrases.
Current fave phrase is "Gotta Go", we were in a hurry on Saturday and he decided to take forever to eat his breakfast.

Yep- Ness says Plane and Sky too but not in a sentence! She has been walking around for 2 days saying Bunna bunna and we don't know what she is trying to say! She can say no but not yes, she uses no for Yes and no, just it sounds grumpy when its No and normal when it means yes! She also says Ok and "barney"she has fallen in love with Barney

We have short sentences i.e. "Daddy's at work", "There's a plane, in the sky", "I want to walk" (but kinda rolled into one), "where's mummy/daddy gone".

Jackson had another haircut today. Was the best haircut he's ever had. Very little wriggling and moving. It was a guy doing it this time and all other times it was a girl. Aneira says Key ee for Keaton and Coy ee for Coedy, Lucan just gets the baby and our male cat gets called mummy thanks to my smart arse husband lol.

She loves Hi-5 (but only the new ones lol) and the freshbeat band and will dance to them and sing along she also will come and grab peoples hands to make them dance with her lol. Yep- nessa has lots of little sentences, "kids at dool(school)" I ball(fall) down" "wheres the Cat, oh heres the cat, oh hello Cleo" Love how often she starts here sentences with Oh. She also calls the kids Lovey, "oh hello lovey" She has most of the kids names sorted but in her own nickname sort of was, i.e, she calls Charlotte "lalee" Henry "henny" Amazingly she says Juliette almost perfectly now!

Aneira sometimes talks in sentences like she will say "I'm pushing the baby" and "Here you go" but generally she just yells and points and the boys will get her whatever she wants lol.
