A big THANK YOU to those of you who replied and I have come to the decission for me Honey childinserts are the best...so thick and fluffy and absorbent but not bulky, I love them. i got some little pickes inserts from their website when i saw them on TM and i dont like them that much eh. they were quite small for the medium nappy and lost their fluff super quick, no wonder they were so cheap! They also wouldnt go near my older sons large nappy so when you do upsize that would mean getting more inserts too.
My Honeychilds on the other hand are still fluffy (7 months of washing everyday!) and still find them really absorbant. Ali has hers on for 3-4hours with 1 insert and no leaks... Oh and for night 1 greenchild bamboo or hemp insert with a HC micro has never failed us!
I only have those 2 brands but its definitely a clear winner.

The HC inserts are thicker and fluffier than the Fuzzi ones. They're really soft and stay thick over time and are definitely more absorbent. The only negative thing I could say is that they did go kinda grey-ish in colour over time, not remaining really white, not that it bothered me, just something I noticed.

I have also used the Cotton Babies one-size inserts and whilst they are absorbent (again, more so than a standard Fuzzi insert) they are longer than most standard M/L inserts and so in a medium pocket (and even some larges) they have to be poppered down at the front to shorten which bugged me a bit for daytime use because it made the front unnecessarily bulky so I tended to keep them for night time use.

I love our Cotton Babies one-size inserts that came with the BumGenius nappies. They are very absorbent and they don't pill or catch fluff at all. Very nice and they stay new looking unlike others which catch lint and fluff when going through the wash.

The honeychild ones are similar material but are brushed differently to make them more absorbent.

I used to need double the amount of FB inserts compared to the HC ones. I agree that the Honeychild inserts are good, although they take slightly longer to dry than a Fuzzi insert (but you're getting a more absorbent insert so that's understandable).

I've also heard good things about the Little Pickles inserts - a friend of mine uses them in her pockets and says they're really absorbent. She bought them off TM or you can buy them from their own website. Our inserts are trim, stay soft when wet and are super absorbent. They last approx 3-4 hours depending on how much of a heavy wetter he is. They're also the same size as the old Fuzzi inserts so you don't need to worry about the insert sticking out the back of the pocket.

Just before toilet training Caitlin only needed 1 insert in her day time nappy (changed every 1 hours) and 2 in her night time 1, and she is a fairly heavy wetter.

I use pockets and all my old inserts from my Son's Fuzzis have finally given up absorbing (as well as they should) and my ecobubs do not come with inserts (I could buy them separately) so i thought i would shop around and see what you guys consider to be the best inserts for med sized pockets.

My main priorities are daytime absorbtion and staying trim.

I have a tummy sleeper so don't want to fold things down cause i think that would be uncomfortable when sleeping.
