Sorry I havent read all your previous posts in the past, but is Jackson on Gaviscon as well as Losec? Gav helps to keep the feed down and thickens it. Isla had to be on Gav before each feed plus Ranitidine twice a day.
Also Isla never had tummy time lying flat, always up on a angle.
Also Gaviscon can be added to their formula too, maybe this would help too?

Saffron, could be right. I have only just noticed the sloshing on the Neocate. Can't put Jackson on his tummy too much, as it always makes him puke.

Jackson put on no weight this week on Neocate, and his intake is getting less and less every day. I wonder why?

He spills more on the Neocate, so I wonder if his omeprazole is not high enough and it is acidic? I don't think it is the taste of the Neocate that is a problem... but something obviously is!

I keep coming across all these horror stories of babies who need NG tubes, and never get good at eating. I know just how you feel. Someone will say one thing and it gives you a glimmer of hope and for a little while it works then its bad again. And it seems a lot of the conditions have similar symptoms.
One thing Im pretty certain of is that the slooshing sound you hear is wind in the stomach. We found that with Dominic, actually we would put him on our knees and sloosh him a wee bit then up over the shoulder to burp. Worked a treat for him, wouldn't do it with Isobelle though as she spills so excessively, don't want to risk her bringing up anymore milk than she already does.

Laurie, Caden always had the sloshing in his tummy, so I dont think thats anything to worry about, ad Caden has never had any probs.
He would have a bottle then g to bed and when id pick him up an hour or so later I could hear the milk sloshing round lol.

Hi Saffron. I haven't found any site with a heap of information. I came across the concept on the Crying Over Spilt Milk website, and have then just gathered information using good old Google.

Ha ha, quite the little researcher am I.

So now I wonder about the possibility of Jackson having Delayed Gastric Emptying. Clearly I will discuss this with the paed (only a week to wait!!) but wanted thoughts and experiences. (Please )

I read that up to half of reflux babies can have this. The symptoms that Jackson seems to have are:

- Not getting hungry between feeds
- Seeming to get full after a short amount
- Refluxing undigested milk hours after a feed

Plus, I have noticed recently when I pick him up after a nap that he has a sloshing sound in his tummy, like he is still full.

And, it might also explain why he was even worse on the Anti Reflux formula, as that takes even longer to digest. And why he drinks significantly more in the morning (though, could just as easily be simply hunger).

Has anyone had experience with their children taking medication for that? I have read about the two types, but the most common being domperidone. The other sounds awful, but it seems they don't give it too readily in NZ.
