Just bought another great sleepy sack - quilted blanket type - $24.95 at The Baby Factory - he can wear his normal jammies underneath and stay plenty warm.

What about using a long sleeve woolen singlet under the sleepy sack. We had one of our three fin heaters on in his room last night and it worked wonderfully - had it on half heat just to take the chill off the room and he was toasty warm and slept in a little later.

we have a 5 fin oil heater in jack's room which is on thermostat pretty much constantly...our power bill is $130-$160/mth which i thought was pretty good.

LOL - you just reminded me - hubby dressed him yesterday morning and must have been feeling the cold - he had put a singlet, long sleeve all in one t-shirt, skivvy and then jumper on the top - all with a pair of shorts and no socks!

Any idea how to keep the covers on a squirming one year old at night? We have a couple of sleepysacks that go over Andrew's pj's, but they don't keep his arms warm. We can't keep him covered up and the alternative is going to be keeping a heater on in his room all night (which aside from the safety concerns I have, led to a $500 a month power bill last year when he was born in winter!).

I'm also having trouble keeping socks and shoes on him during the day - he's a little Houdini and takes them off!
