I have two children from a previous marriage - and my new hubby desperately wants to be a dad - but I am 40 - and just didn't know how things would go. We have 3 angel-babies (lost 3 in a row) - lost the biggest at 9 weeks on Christmas Day which was just devastating.

I am now just over 15 weeks along - so keep perservering - keep positive - feep focusing on your goal and RELAX! Be kind to yourself - the worst thing I did was to beat myself up because I couldn't seem to keep a baby! (It felt that way at the time).

Big hugs to ALL of you who have gone through or are going through this......there are many of us here who understand and want to be there for you!

I'm feeling good today. I know I'll get there one day soon. It was our first shot on Clomid and we concieved, so thats something positive. Taking time out after it happens is really important and talking about it! I am under a really good specialist, and I have had a complete m/c. There was no lingering and everything seems to be back to normal. I know that it will prob take 6 weeks or so for my HCG to come down, but we haven't had any more bloods done for that either. Not really too worried about that though because if I feel I need another blood test in 6 weeks I can just ring the doctor. It sure is a rollercoaster, but the the ultimate prize is that lovely bundle at the end! Positive thoughts to all of you and hope you all have a lovely day!

This is definetely the place to come to during this time - loads of ladies who totally get what you're going through (and don't make those dumb comments people make when they are trying to help but really don't)
Are they keeping an eye on your HCGs?? Also if you go for another scan try to make it within 2 weeks of the MC as the buggers charge you otherwise (like its not hard enough!!)
You will get your BFP - fingers and toes crossed for you. Take as much time as you need before TTC again - it really does your head in!
Come online any time you need to vent about anything!

I had my first mc on Sunday and was lost. I have irregular periods, endo and PCOS and have been on clomid. One round of clomid and I conceived, but had a mc at 6 weeks. It all started on the last Wednesday and I had a scan and there was a heartbeat. Bleeding had started on Friday and I had another scan and there was a heartbeat. It has been so hard but I'm getting there slowly.
I am trying to be positive and look forward to the day I get a BFP.
This support network is great because when it happens you can feel a little bit lost. It must be so hard watching your sister go through what you should be too. That is good news about the wheelchair! Really do try to not feel bad, you need to do and feel what you need to heal yourself.
Birdie, nope I didnt get PG again, just finished my first AF after MC 3 weeks ago, and I have to wait till next cycle to start TTC again due to having surgery (knee!). How are you coping? and your family?
It has been hard, you feel like you can't get passed it until its over & for so long it wasn't. I think ive found it really hard as my sister is also pregnant with a healthy bubba.
My DF is doing well, alot better than a month ago, I guess I was lucky as he got out of hospital the day before they confirmed the mc so was able to be there for everything. The surgeons think he should be able to walk on his own again in 5 weeks & we no longer need the wheelchair. Hes been coping well, been really there for me & ive felt bad that its taking me so long to get over the fact that all this has happened and hes so ready & so am I to start trying again its so hard to stick to our plan!

I can't begin to imagine what it has been like for you appy2 & MrsK2! I also have pcos in one ovary too. We have an appt with our specialist on Tuesday so I am praying that he will have some solutions for us to help us have a sticky bubba.

If you haven't already done so get your specialist to do all the recurrent miscarriage bloods to look for blood clotting factors and immune disorders etc. as I think they can put you on suitable medication during your pregnancy to help prevent m/c.

Goodluck though and I really hope you don't need that specialist

I'm 5 weeks 4 days and have been on a roller coaster ride of emotions as my hcg levels haven't been doing what they ought to. I have all the symptoms, morning sickness, rapidly growing and tender breasts - when they tell me it doesn't look good it seems like a cruel joke. If this one doesn't go ahead it will be my 3rd MC in 13 months, but I am not giving up just yet! I have let both come out naturally and had no problems. I gave myself 6 months after the first one but only because I needed to get my head space together before trying again. I don't mean to put anyone off by sharing my story, I have PCOS and I'm sure that's something to do with my inability to carry... so far. Hopefully it's something that can be leveled out with hormones or something?? I'm with a specialist this time around so if this one doesn't work out the next one is bound to. Look after yourselves and stay positive.

Big Hugs to you, that is horrible :( All the best, hope you have a good & fast recovery.

Well they confirmed that I had mc on the 5th May after bleeding started on the 21 April & i finally stopped bleeding last week the 17th June. I've found it so hard to get over this I guess while I was still bleeding it was hard to deal with. I feel horrible that I've been feeling real down about it & emotional as I know I'm not the only one to have had this happen.
After a week of no bleeding, my breasts are sore & I'm bleeding again so I think Ive now got a period & might be about to have my first cycle in months! Who would've thought that would be exciting.
We have decided to start TTC in October, which i'm excited about but feel like its ages off & wish it was now! But this way, if we concieve October/November, I will hopefully be 3 to 4 months at our wedding & we thought it would be nice to announce it then

All the best guys, take care

I had a scan and things are looking good, im suffering from MS etc and dont see any reason why this one wont stick around now

so I managed to concieve straight after my MC. baring in mind mine was an early MC, so my body bled for a little bit longer than AF would and i OVed right bang on time, actually i think day early, i was using OPKs (courtesy of lovely littlestar) and managed to nail it next time around. Not only did i nail it, I also got early implantation so got an early BFP and i personally put that down to having left over progesterone that pushed things along quicker.

I had my scan the other day and not only was i not put behind with any days due to size etc, i was actually put a day ahead which makes me realise i really did implant very early.......i had a speedy egg.

I was very worried that i would OV later but my MC didnt affect any of my cycle at all

I hope the same happens for you ladies.........getting a BFP early was a bit scary cos i didnt want to get too excited and didnt really tell anyone for a few days just in case i MCed early again, but i kinda knew deep down that it was different this time as it was an early BFP as opposed to the other which was a later BFP faint line. I was 16DPOs when i got my BFP in March, but then i was only 8DPO when i got the same faint line..........

Sorry for the long post, but i also just wanted to add that i have done 25 preg tests since my first one this time around to see if they get stronger and they did.......lol good ol cheap internet tests are great

I started temping (which to be honest I never really got the hang of) and bought some ovulation tests. Certainly wasn't expecting anything to actually happen straight away, which was a bit of a suprise. My dr said its normal for cycles after a MC to last from 4-8 weeks.
I found it comforting to see the changes in temp and ov tests as my body started working again. But having another baby straight after the MC did freak me out more than I expected.
If you decide to gets some OPKs I would recommend buying them online as its much cheaper than in the pharmacy (I got mine from baby4you but there are loads of other places as well)

If you have any questions please feel free to PM me or just post them up here as there are (unfortunately) loads of ladies who have been through the same thing.

I had my MC just prior to Easter, the bleeding lasted about 7 days. I've decided to go with the theory that my MC was like a late AF and we have started BDing again in the hope that I fall pregnant again shortly. So my question to you is (I'm getting there!) do you think you ovulated as normal (normal date etc) to produce your BFP?

Congratulations by the way too - wow there's been a lot of due-Dec babies!

I had spotting even before getting my bfp (on a Saturday), the hpt's I took over the next couple of days were not getting darker and I started bleeding properly on the Wednesday. I went to my gp and had a scan on the Thursday which showed it was a complete miscarriage. i also had some bloods done and my hcg was down to 5 so it happened very quickly. My cycle went straight back to normal afterwards, I ov'd on day 14 (beware, if you are anything like me then it is bloody sore after the mc lol!). Unfortunately, luck was not on my side again and i had a repeat of the previous month and another mc. I've been to the gp again and we are taking the month off trying to give my body a chance to recover properly and are having some genetic blood testing done to make sure there is no other reason for the mc's.

But good luck to you, it is definately a good sign that you now know your body is ready after getting all the depo out of its system! I had the same thing except I hadn't tested, but the clots are a big giveaway aren't they. I bled for two whole weeks and the next cycle (which was 7 weeks later) I bled for another two weeks. At that time I checked things with my GP and he said just to let things do their own course as it's a lot easier on the body. You'll be inspired to know that I didn't have another cycle after that, well not for over 9mos anyway

As for temps and retesting, while there is a small possibility that you have lost 'only' a twin, I think the chances are reasonably high that while you are still bleeding, your hormone levels may be elevated enough to give a false positive. Your temps may well do the same thing... stay up for a while until your hormones settle.

It may pay to read through some of the other threads on m/c's, if you're in the right frame of mind. Be aware that you will probably experience the "baby blues" just like you did when you had your other kids... in about 3 days from now. Your hormones will drop off in a similar fashion to when you gave birth.

So its quite possible to take another HPT a few days later and still get a positive. Best thing to do is get a couple of blood tests - if they show increases its all good news but if they show a decrease then its pretty certain things are not so great.

Hugs - make sure you take care of yourself, its sad time for you and DH.

    Author: LouD
Subject: 25270
Posted: 17 March 2009 at 2:32pm

Hi

I am currently experiencing my first MC. I found out i was preg with a very faint line on friday night which took the full 5 mins to come in.
Then i took tests for the next couple of days and they were just as faint. then last night i started spotting and now i have full blown AF with clots..........So i was only preg for a short time. the worst of it all for me was it has taken 12months to get preg at all after Depo.

Although i kinda had that sense that something wasnt right with no symptons or the tests not getting darker as they really should with HCG getting higher etc...........

Because its just a late AF basically i gather i dont really need to race out and get any D&C (unless bleeding lasts longer than 5 days) so im just letting it run its course like its a normal AF and go back to charting

One question i do have is i took my temp this morning and its still elevated.........will this drop over the next couple of day?
And did anyone do another preg test a few days after MC just to double check that by some miracle you might still be preg............everyone keeps telling me too but honestly what would the chances be?
