Maya transitioned from a bottle to a sipper cup of (rice) milk at about 20 mths - she left the bottle out for Santa on Xmas eve.

She now has nothing before bed, as we found that the milk was making her a bit refluxy and she would vomit a couple of hours after going to bed. I only just weaned the boys off their bottle 2-3 weeks ago. Mainly cos i wasnt ready for the battle or for them to grow up. But i just decided to go for it and now their bedtime routine is a cup of milk on the couch then tv turned off (otherwise they will never leave the lounge lol). Stories in bed with them having five minutes to look at their books on their own as well and a quick run to the door b4 they get out of bed and race me to it. They do have a wee cry for about 5 minutes but then they usually crash so all in all not too bad.

ok having said all that, today at nap time he wanted a bottle! so i gave him a half one and he drank it all

maybe i was kidding myself and it was just his cold that put him off drinking, his nose is all stuffed up...oh well, i'll see what happens tonight at bedtime.

Jake still has his bedtime and wake-up bottle. Was thinking it was time to wean him off, but with all the changes we've been having, thought I'd wait.
We were thinking the milo thing too, but jake only likes one type of teat, and when we left it at Dad's one night, he refused everything, including Milo in a sippy cup. Jake has a special "big boy" cup with his name on it, that he drinks from now. ella gave her bottle up about 6 months ago all on her own too. it made me a little sad as well but, like you, i was glad not to have to battle about it later.

thats good really though even though it means he is growing up. we cant get kobe to sleep without one. my boy is growing up
i was just wondering what you other ladies have done when the bottle gets rejected....i feel he should have something to help send him off to sleep as he now spends an hour after we put him down, mucking around in his cot
