yip another bossy one here! she also tells her toys off for hitting each other and makes them say sorry and cuddle each other and then asks the other toy if they are 'all better now?'.

Also very obsessed with all of her toys & dolls doing a poo (she even sniffs them and makes a winkled up nose) and changing their nappies- funny child.

Haha Nikki that's so funny! Gabrielle isn't two yet but doing some of the same things, especially meltdowns over being told 'no'.

She also tells off all of her toys, friends, the dog and cats! She will say everything we say to her. Even last night I was in her room and she went to the lounge not before telling me to 'stay there' and shaking her finger at me at the same time lol! I am renaming her 'boss'.

I remembered when in bed last night - we also have the "naughty" thing .... if anyone does anything he doesn't like, or even just looks at him he calls them naughty and cries!! (his nanas and the cats get it alot as well and dh and I). I think I used the word too much when we started the naughty spot! Oh no - big hugs to you all!

Makes me feel so much better about Jake (haha) - hes not bad compared to most I guess!! But does have awesome language (was putting 2 words together at 16mths) so he can explain what he wants (just doesn't like the answer sometimes!) and still sleeps 2-3.5 hours most days which helps.

To those expecting no 2 right when they turn 2 (Morgan was born 5 days after his b'day) I have found Jake a little more "temperamental" but his behaviour hasn't gone downhill too much - and he is definitely not taking anything out on her (seems very happy about having a baby sister), hes just generally more difficult. But its hard to say if thats cos DH has been primarily looking after him (I had c section) or cos hes got chickenpox or just turned 2 or Morgan arriving ... or all of the above!

Although his tantrums aren't much worse - he is definitely losing it alot more over nothing recently and whining all the time. Meltdown is way faster. Well my terrible two year old has just gone to bed an hour early for not eating his dinner. He asked for dinner so I heated up his spaghetti that he refused to eat last night (he normally loves it) and he refused to eat it tonight as well. So I told him eat it or go to bed and here we are.

He also just went in time out 5 times for refusing to pick up the fridge magnets that he had thrown everywhere.

Ah it was all going so well until 5pm. So glad to hear its not just us! Mine stomps off to her room slams the door and hides out in her closet thought thats what a teenager does. And I have to stop myself from laughing at it sometimes cause its quite funny really (but not funny all at the same time).

Elle still has a big day sleep - usually a good 2 hours (thank god!).

Yea, hes not really half as bad anymore- I must admit- Kalz is getting better now his vocab has grown. Im now able to reason with him, still a tyrant none-the-less.(Or perhaps dynamite is a better word to describe him- my house looks like fort knox!) He drives me round the bend, I dont like him much sometimes LOL. And yep Im thankful he still has his big day sleeps

yeah it definitely the language making a differnce, as now I can often stop her just because she gets worked up and ask her to try and explain what is the problem. Also her attention span is slowly getting longer and longer and she can now spend ages playing with her duplo or her little peoples dollhouse (more imagination play), so I think that is also helping because she doesn't get as bored.

Luckily she still has 2-3 hr sleeps everyday, so doesn't get as tired (when she only sleeps for an hr at daycare, her behaviour defintely gets worse in the early evening).

Yeah I think the language thing is huge. Spencer is just starting simple sentences so hopefully as this improves he can tell us what he wants/what is upsetting him and that will help.
His food intake is pretty good as most foods are banned because of allergies, plus I try to be preservative, flavouring, colouring free for all of us so even the naughty food I buy is quite good.

I think tiredness is another issue here as when he is well rested things go a lot better but he quite often doesn't have an afternoon nap for days at a time and then gets really really overtired and grumpy and will have a big catch up nap. I have to put my hand up and say that Samantha also has really improved over the past few weeks. She had become a right terror (you know - the kids you look at in shops and hope yours don't become!) in the past 5 or so months. We are now getting comments about how well behaved and sweet she is. I think it is a combination of much more speech coming in, we have cut out all artificial colours and most rubbish food and we are just generally being more strict on her of late. Nikki, I'm with you, Bella's '2 year old behaviour' started a few months ago

She is into throwing things when things don't go her way, hitting me, throwing herself on the floor when I say "no", repeatedly saying "naughty" (now I know what I sound like ), sitting in the middle of the carpark at daycare because she doesn't want to leave, arching her back when you carry her (because she physically won't walk sometimes ) and she's made a joke out of the naughty spot by continuously putting all her dolly's on the naughty spot and telling them "naughty!" very crossly . well, I am going to jinx myself and say that in the last month or so Ella's behaviour has actually gotten better instead of worse and the hitting,pushing, tantums are not as frequant as they used to be (her language has also improved out of sight so that may have something to do with it).

We had 40mins of sreaming just to get out of the house to go to coffee group today....had to go otherwise I would have happily throttled her!!, and all the problem was.....she wanted me to look at something that I couldn't see so got very frustrated with me! Yeah Stacey, Spencer's ramped up a notch about a week before he turned two. I swear sometimes he gets up and must think "what can I destroy today?" and other days he thinks "wonder if I can make mummy snap by 9am?"

The throwing drives me absolutely insane. Have decided to now confiscate anything he throws and then put them all back after he's gone to bed, otherwise he will have no toys after a couple a days. Hopefully it works, cos time out doesn't seem to be cutting it on it's own. He use to only throw as part of a tanty but now he just does it cos he wants to. He has balls he is allowed to throw as well and that use to work but not anymore.

I thought I would start a thread for everyone with a terrible 2 year old.

Mine is very much into throwing everything, even right after I say "don't throw that" or sometimes it goes more like this "don't you throw....." object whistles pass my ear.

He likes hitting, mostly me and for no reason at all. My favourite is when he comes in lips puckered for a kiss and then either headbutts me or slaps me straight in the face. He has a tooth mark in his head from last nights attempt, sadly it seemed to hurt me more than him, I was actually worried my tooth was gonna fall out cos it hurt that much and cos he hit my crown so not exactly the most stable of teeth to start with.
