When did you start taking folic acid with Jared, Kebakat? If you don't mind me asking.

I could only imagen the questions your've been through... I think I properly over analyse everything as a way of processing things, so I can try and get over it. Though I agree, it can be one big headf**k, to be blunt!

Apparently rescue remedy is o.k during pregnancy, as you only take four drops at a time, though your right it does have alcohol in it.

Yeah, I know I'll be exactly the same with my next pregnancy, though each pregnancy is different and we have both had successful pregnancies!

One thing I have had from the hospital is a few drs/nurses following me up, which makes me feel better and I have another Gyne appt. this month. Though they weren't 100% certain on what was happening, and I had to go back numerous times before I got the mext. shot, which worked and my hcg levels dropped really quickly thankfully.

Have you tried rescue remedy buzzydaisy? That helped me with my anxiety.

I been told various things to wait 3 months, to 1-2 cycles to try again, though I have decided to try again in October, which I am hanging out for!

Buzzydaisy, did you get any treatment with your ectopic? I'm a bit scared of falling pregnant now and miscarrying because it was too soon,or bub having a defect because of the mextroate shot I had.

I can sympathise on ttc taking forever, and I really hope everything goes well for you and bubs is all nice and cosy, and in the right place!

I can't speak for others, but it certainly makes me feel better being able to talk about things like ttc again and all the emotions that will come when I do try again. Instead of chewing my partners ears off lol.

Thanks Krissie, I want to feel normal again too and having a regular sex life makes things semi normal again,so i know what you mean.Though I have to wait till things settle down to even begin to start thinking of it lol. I've had so many emotions of being insanely clucky,sad, and worrying that I won't be able to concieve, OR the possibility of having another ectopic because of damage to one of my tubes. Though storys like yours make me realise I'm lucky I've kept both tubes! Congrats on your pregnancy, I was due in March 2006 with ds, time flys!

Sh_az the ectopic drug depletes folic acid which is responable for generating embroynic cells and taking folic acid could effect the drugs effectiveness, thanks google lol. I think I'm going to start taking folic acid next month, to up my stores again.

Well my blood test on Friday showed my hcg had dropped to 81, so I think my bodys slowly getting back to normal

I'm so sorry for what you have been through, i know how you feel though. I had an ectopic a few months back, and they just kept looking at my hcg levels and waiting, untill on the 8th of June my tube ruptured and i had to have emergency surgery.

Even though i lost my tube, i somehow managed to concieve again on  my very next O date?? Wasn't supposed to even be bd'ing but when your down you do what you can to feel normal i guess. I didn't have any drugs for it though, just the surgery, and my hcg levels dropped back to normal in about 7 days.

I just wanted to pop in here and give you some hope for the future. I was terrified that i'd not be able to concieve again, and it was really bringing me down, But here i am 10 weeks after surgery and i'm just over 8 weeks pregnant!

A bit of a shock to us all, even my gp, but this wee peanut is our miricle baby.

Sh_az, you were told not to take folic acid after the methrotrexate? Did they tell you the reason why?

I feel rotten today, the nausea has finally got me. Home alone too, so a bit nervous. I've got another bloodtest tomorrow, really hoping there has been some decrease in my hcg levels.

Talked to Charlie on the phone last night and he asked to come home, poor thing, I really want him home but I'm just not physically or mentally up to it. He's a very full on boy at the best of times!

Well after my dnc last night, they ruled out it being a molar pregnancy and due to swelling on my left side they think the pregancy was in my left tube. They gave me Methotrexate and I was quite ill as I hadn't eaten for 12 hours because of my surgery. Though feeling way better today. They're going to do following blood tests to evaluate if I will need a further shot also. Kinda glad it's all over, and I'm really hoping to not need another injection.

Kebakat thanks for all of your advice, I'm going to keep taking folic acid. What dosage would be best to take?, I know I can't od on the stuff lol.

Well after waiting to be called back, I rang the hospital and spoke to the dr on duty who thankfully knew who I was and she told me to rule out ectopic/molar pregnancy (seriously my hcg levels are really low for it to be a molar pregnancy?) they would like to book me in for surgery tomorrow, then they get everything out and test it, I'm guessing this will be a dnc, she explained the procedure but didn't really give it a name. So yeah at this point all I really know now is that i've got surgery tomorow at 12pm,I'm glad my partner can be with me and Charlies being looked after.

Bit confused really, I think they are too obviously. Hopefully the searing pain in my left side will go with the surgery.

Sh_az I can't believe after one etopic, they would lay back and let nature take its course!? It's hard putting your trust in drs when your so vunerable, I find it hard now, as I have had all the signs of an etopic pregnancy, even I knew deep down and only now they're taking action. Sorry for your miscarriage, it really is scary when you don't know whats going on eh,does feel isolating. 

Kebakat, my bleeding is unusual as I had a 'normal' miscarriage that lasted 7 days and then different spotting/bleeding thats been going on 30 days straight, thats when I knew something was definatley up, esp because my scans came all clear and I had no 'products of conception' left, though hcg levels that wouldn't lower.

Did you guys have anyone stay with you when you had the etopic drug? Because I don't know the real effects I might get my mum to stay, is that a good idea? Or did your partners just take a day off? Or am I just soft lol.

 It was actually the dr who saw me at A & E last night that told me about the drug being used for abortions, was just a dumb thing to say, I thought drs had a little bit more sensitivity then that.

How long was it until the hcg level left your body, did you have lots of dark brown/red bleeding through out? I've been getting really bad cramps in my side and I'm bleeding a bit more, thats why I went to A & E again as the bleeding had worsen as well as the cramps.

I'm hating the waiting as well, I'm a bit scared it'll do further damage and effect my fertility even more. Though I know logically I should be ok.

Yeah it was methotrixate he mentioned. I think it's really my only option I've been at the same hcg level for nearly a month, only slightly risen then stayed stagnent, so I don't see anything happening naturally.

6 months no ttc is a blow,since It had taken ages to actually get pregnant, though really all I want now is it to be over with, maybe 6 month will give me enough time to emotionally heal as well as physically.

This intermitent cramping sucks too, though I'm guessing because I was only 5 weeks, it no real 'problem'.

After 4 hospital visits, 3 vaginal exams, 2 scans and numerous blood tests, I have finally been diagonised with an ectopic pregnancy. It's been so hard the last month, bleeding continually, cramping and looking after a 3 year old while studying fulltime, while having no clue on what was going on

I will be talking to a gynecologist on Monday about treatment, a drug to flush things out, feel a bit apprehensive about this, though properly because I'm not fully informed yet. Has anyone been through this? What are the side effects etc? Really I just need to talk about it since I have noone who has been through it before.
