Author: lizzle
Subject: 2872
Posted: 16 June 2006 at 11:53am

Jake and I dance around a lot. We watch the Wiggles in the morning and get up and do the actions. we put on (my) CDS and dance - i could put on his but figured I should expose him to ddecent music early!
Sometimes he colours in his colouring book. I photocopy the pages though. It seems to work well as now he knows he can use his crayons on paper and not in books.
We got for heaps of walks - even when i was pregnant with Taine we would walk around playing "what do you see?"
Rolling a ball together lasts for an astonishing amount of time.
puting Jake on the bench in the kitchen we bake sometimes. He stirs (terribly)
I give him free range of the pot cupboard so we play "musicians"
DVDs are okay on a rainy day - especially musical ones where you can get up and dance instead of just sitting down.
Jake is at an age where housework is still seen as "fun", so he helps with the vacumming, making of beds, dishes, dusting etc, and thinks it's fun. the best one is hanging out the washing when he hands me pegs.
Don't forget your local toy library often have great "new" toys to play with.
Honestly, Jake likes painting but it takes 30 mins to set upand clean up, and he sepands about 2 mintues painting. Daycare does painting and collages. They do lots of "sponge painting" which sounds good.
(ok I am suggesting messy stuff!!)
I have 3 nursery rhyme cd's that I have put on once a week for Arna and we just sing those - that lasts about half an hour before she gets bored! (You can borrow them if you want)
Do a scatter toys morning / afternoon - get all his toys out of the toy box and let him go wild!

Not really sure of anything else... Hope this gives you some ideas
