She also said mixing it with breastmilk is good. Ive been making it more runny so I can suck it up with the syringe and give it to her that way, heaps easier getting it into her tha way.<br /><br />Im also taking her to an oesteopath to have a cranial massage done.]]>

Daniel had huge weight issues so we needed everything that went into him to be full of calories etc.  But if you've been doing it awhile, he's used to it and he's gaining weight etc, I wouldn't fix what ain't broke!]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=18232">Shezamumof3</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 29471<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 22 October 2009 at 9:36am<br /><br />Poor Isabella gagged and cried when I gave it to her with the water instead of breastmilk, I used a syringe to give it to her.<br />Doing it with EBM and making it into a paste was much easier, I just put it on the end of a wee spoon and put as much of it in her mouth as I could then put her straight on the breast as Flissty said to do.<br />After that lot of Gaviscon last night she slept for a few hours had another feed, then slept through the night, yay!]]>

Becuase it thickens and binds, it also affects the poos so don't give too much!  When we started we did one in the morning and one in the late afternoon to start with ..<br /><br />The paed I saw said don't give it like they say on the box cos it's too much "extra" liquid from a BF baby and you really want to keep them drinking BM.]]>

Make sure she drinks lots (yeah right, like you can tell your 2 month old to drink more!) cos it can block them up.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;GPs are pretty to happy to chuck drugs at anything so I doubt they'll tell you not to give it.  She 'sounds' refluxy from what you're saying.<br /><br />Tip: don't do what they say on the box.  Mix it up with a few squirts of breast milk, put it in her mouth then stick her on the boob.  ]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=18232">Shezamumof3</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 29471<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 20 October 2009 at 5:28pm<br /><br />Im pretty sure Isabella has reflux, she cries whenever you lay her down, and I mean screams like she is in pain, but is fine when she is up right or being rocked, she feeds heaps and frantically looks for my boob all the time, but when she comes off the breast she screams and screams, she spills a lot, she gets hiccups a lot...<br />I looked on the crying over spilt milk wesbite and all her symptoms point to reflux.<br /><br />Ive booked her into the Dr for Thursday, but I also went to the chemist and got some Infant Gaviscon, however on the box it says not to give to infants under 1 year unless on Dr advice, but the pharamcist sold it to me...<br />Should I give her some, or wait for the Dr? I feel so awful cos the poor thing is so unhappy <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley6.gif" border="0"> she cries all the time...]]>
