Depending on your recipe you might not need to use chocolate at all? Ok DPs mum told me its Nice & Natural Sugar Free Chocolate bars and that they only come in 35g bars, so not a whole lot. She also said you can get them at Woolworths and can usually find them next to the checkouts where they keep all the chocolate/candy bars. My DPs brother is diabetic and has a certain type of chocolate he is able to eat, I'm not sure of the brand but I know they sell it at the supermarket in bar size not blocks, not sure of the brand/name but if you're interested I can find out the name for you?

I was hoping to bake a chocolate cake for my grandmother this Xmas who has type 2 diabetes. I was wondering if there is such a thing as a chocolate that is safe for diabetics?

At Huckleberry Farms, they have these blocks of chocolate with "no added sugar." They're a lot lower in calories but I am assuming there's still some amount of sugar in them. Do you think they would be okay for her? I know she has sugar sometimes.

There's also cocoa in the recipe. Is this safe?
