I am currently using real nappies pre-folds on Esme (3weeks). She's in the newborn size but will fit infant in the next month I would imagine. I like them but use a microfleece liner so that she stays drier. We have had no leaks yet from them. Although I use sposies at night.

I'm using them with a snappy but her poo sometimes leaks through to the cover through the nappy so just stains it yellow but washes out :) I also have some pockets that she fits just, having to try them out as some are too big for her just yet. I got the special delivery pack, but recommend getting extra covers as new babies tend to get poo on the covers all the time.

The fleece cover is really big (better for use with a fitted nappy), so you might like to ask snazzipants if you can swap it for another one. I still use it on DD1 (2yrs old)!

I recommend getting small size rather than newborn (my girls were 4kg and 3.8kg and were in small from around 2 weeks).

Just thinking - I should try a snappi to keep the poo off the covers - doh!

this is eden a couple of days old in a snappied prefold. she wasnt as big as she looks, its just the angle.

Oooh thanks Odette just what I needed!! Will def be upgrading to small though!!

I have bummis and Real Nappies covers and I find they both work fine. Never had leaks with either but didn't use them on Jake as a NB we changed to prefolds when he was about 7-8 months old.
I've found the Real Nappies booster to be fantastic and soaks up a huge amount so overnight I've used 1 prefold with a booster folded into it then another booster on top and woolen longies during winter. I used and will use Ecobots prefolds+ covers , also have a few NB bummis covers.
ecobots covers are awesome they have a leg gusset to keep poo in. DD was a once a week pooer and it only leaked out once or twice.

I used prefolds and bummis wraps on DS from when he was a month old. I used the Real Nappies prefold with Ben from birth. He was 8lb 10oz and I foud that the smallest size didn't really fit very well and prefered the next size up.

I'm thinking of using prefolds for my newborn until it fits into the next size of nappy. Any advice or good or nightmare stories with this?
