My post wasn't very clear - it wasn't the GP saying that it's not nice for babies it was the lady at the lab when we went to get the test. Sarah, They can do what my Dr did with Alia, just order everything under the sun (except dairy, was worried about that at that stage) unfortunately it was a lot of vials of blood.

My book here says that for eczema that for some children avoiding preservatives can make a huge difference. I think there are limited choices here in Hastings I will certainly tlak to my GP about it though and see what she can do. I wasn't very impressed, she went on and on about how it's not nice for babies etc etc, like she was trying to make me feel bad for even wanting to do it? Of course I don't want to have to do it but I can't figure out what else is causing it! Grrr.

Well awesome, they couldn't do the test because his eczema is covering too much of his body. THanks guys. My dr said they are not always conclusive so we'll do that first and then maybe a rast test? (the blood test?) if something doesn't show up which I htink he's reacting to.

how bizaar, Spencer has had three skin prick tests and we were never told not to use creams before hand. Is there anyone else there you could ask about the lemnis cream?

Kel, some docs do test before 12 months, our does, he just sometimes diagnosis allergies even if the test is neg as you can get false negatives with younger babies. I've just booked my son in for a skin allergy test for next tuesday. They told me not to use any creams except aqueaus anywhere on his body for 3 days before the test. I can't use aqueaus becuase he reacts to it Would HealthE Fatty cream (used to be limnis fatty cream I think) be ok? It's got no perfumes or meds in it...I don't want to go 3 days without even moisturising him it will be like torture for the poor itchy boy!

I asked the lady on the phone about fatty cream but she was frikken useless and didn't even know what it was.
