HunnyBunny, Farmers stock cloth nappies- they are the dome up the sides ones with liners I think. A great site full of information and where to buy is Cloth Nappy Love.

I personally recommend buying a couple of each of the brands you like the look of now to try out once bubs is here. That way you will see what works for you the best.

I'm in southland.. So not that many shops like that...

I saw one nappy that I was looking at, looked like a sposie but cloth, on the inside it had a piece sewn into it that sort of folded up double...

Whereabouts do you live, HB? There are some great IRL shops that you can have a look at, much easier to get the differences when you can see them.

ok here's a few abbreviations explained...

AIO all-in-one - a cloth nappy that's complete, just put on bubs, no nothing to do.

SIO snap-in-one - a nappy that has insets that snap into place.

Pockets - a nappy that has an outer and liner with a space in between which you stuff with as much or as little as you want.

OSFM / OSFA - one size fits most / one size fits all

Inserts - these are the bits of absorbancy, made of microfibre, bamboo or hemp normally, normally a rectangle shape or a square (which is a trifold) that you fold to fit. Normally used as the stuffing for pocket nappies.

Hunnybunny-if you go to www.snazzipants.co.nz they have a lot of info about all the different systems. I found it really useful when starting out. Ok... So after reading some conversations here, and googling a bit... I'm even more confused...

I don't understand the abbreviations you guys use or ANYTHING lol...

I know I shouldn't really buy any cloth nappies before bub is here, but figure surely I'll end up having to buy a couple of different types (like a single nappy of each type??) to see what works best? Before buying packs?
