Samantha put her Daddy in time out the other day for making a silly noise to entertain her brother that she obviously found annoying
He got one warning, then she pointed her finger at him and said, Daddy time out now! Then she got up, led him to the time out space, sat him down and stood there with her hands on her hips glaring at him. Then she told him to say 'Sorry Sam' and gave him a big hug. Charlotte got frustrated at me last week when I wouldn't take her car seat straps off her while we were driving home from daycare. When I asked her why she wanted them off she replied "We have to pick up Paige (a friend from daycare) from Neverland so she can come to my birthday party (which isn't for another 10days)"

I lover her imagination, it makes her such a little person rather than a baby/toddler. How about this one...I was having a firm discussion with Gabrielle this morning about listening to me and doing what I ask when I ask it.

At the end, I asked to to tell me what she should do when I ask her to do something. Her reply:

"Well Mummy, you can't come in my room with a hammer because then it might break and I'll never be happy again. Aaaaand, you can't be a fairy and a mermaid at the same time because it doesn't work like that"

Sam likes to say things like "Goodbye, I'm off to the supermarket now to buy lollies" and he'll go around the back of the house and do a poo. (Not on the ground, in a pull-up)

If he doesn't know what something is he will say it's a muffin, or he will make up a word.   Yesterday he said pumpkin was a 'kernuffle'.

I'm not allowed to make faces, sing, dance or do anything out of the ordinary as I get "Don't do that, it makes Sam sad" followed by a sad put on face.

He also dramatically leaps into my arms if he sees a cat, ant, snail etc, whatever he is terrified of at the time.

toby has a great imagination, gabriel not so much.

Gabrielle doesn't have imaginary friends but is 100% about imaginary play. It is near on impossible to pull her out of her imaginary play for any other types of activities. The scenarios she plays out are sooooo detailed and creative it is quite amazing. I must say I get a little sick of hearing her yelling out to Nori and Nalu in the middle of the night as she tries to rescue them from the seaweed

If she has no dolls on had she will simply name 2 pieces of anything...bark, leaves etc and they play along nicely.

Aren't they amazing though! toby has lots of friends, stuffed animal ones and the ones i cant see... at the moment his bedroom has become his house and he goes home for lunch and theres a road down the hallway but theres lights to cross the road with. thes moring he went to the supermarket and put the bread inhis freezer...

Ella is at point where her imagination (and mouth) is going on and on and on...and thread in Kindy topics reminded me to post here...

Please tell me that some of your kids (2 and 3 yr olds) have got the .....

"I will be so grumpy if you dont #..." - insert simple action like wtching a dvd that you havent mentioned and would take place once you are out of the car anyways LOL!
"My daycare friends dont like me and wont play with me.." (totally false of course)
and the imaginary friends - we have little brother and sisters coming out of our ears - let alone the 2 daycare friends who came on holiday with us and I had to toilet and shower etc...not for real but she would tell me they needed it etc....Oh my!
