I know that Bethany picked up on things a lot earlier than even I did (I didn't find out I was pg until 7wks along and in hindsight suddenly her behaviour leading up to then made a whole lot more sense!). Bedtimes and etc. were doubly difficult and in the end I realised it was cuz she knew something was up with me. Are you finding you're tired/nauseous yet? Cuz that could be affecting your interactions with Jackson, and I know for Bethany she was hyper-sensitive about it. In time she calmed down but it did take a little while. No big suggestions other than eliminating every option (including a few extra cuddles) before you put him to bed so that you know it really is just a big fuss rather than something being wrong. Then just being consistent with what you always do. That's just my two cents anyway :P Hope you're keeping well xx

ETA - lol just realised this thread was older than I thought... hope it's sorted itself out for you already :)

Edited by kmarie

We went through all the same possible problems too, teething, scared of the dark...

We eventually tried the pamol, thinking maybe there is something wrong we wern't picking up on and the screaming didn't last quite as long.

We cancelled out plans for camping and this last weekend we made a real effort to get some sort of solid routine back again and it seemed to have done the trick. After 1 week of screaming, (which left her horrible grumpy during the day) she is back to her normal self. No idea what the problem was

Heres hoping it doesn't take him too long and he gets back to his normal self. DS is the same at the mo and similar age. I can't attribute it to anything except as you're guessing, an awareness of life (parties and treats - ha!) going on after he goes to bed.

Could be the weather too? My friend's 18 month old son is going thru same thing at the mo.

Another thing is that DS has just started having tantrums if he doesn't get my 100% attention when he wants it. A taste of things to come methinks!

    Author: KiwiL
Subject: 31199
Posted: 27 January 2010 at 5:01pm

Jeepers, Jackson has turned into a devil child in the last few days. Particularly at night time.

He has always gone down to bed with no fuss. Put him in the cot, lights off, see you later. The last few nights he has screamed the place down, and last night it was hard enough to vomit. Apparently he also cried going down for his day nap at daycare too.

Last weekend we took him on a road trip. He went to "bed" in the car three night in a row due to us travelling long distances.

Could this have stuffed up his routine enough to make him all grumpy?

When do they get their back molars? Maybe it's teething that is causing this?

DH also wonders if he is suddenly scared of the dark, and perhaps a night light would help? But it's not pitch black in his room anyway.

Or maybe he's just old enough to know that life goes on without him when he's in bed? The thing is he tells us he wants to go nun-nyes but then cries when we leave the room.

Probably noone could answer, but anyone have any ideas or experiences?
