She also sounds like our little girl. Once on neocate it made a huge different and she starting drinking and enjoying them again - even crying cos we weren't fast enough (instead of crying at the fact she had to drink it!!!). The other thing is as well you might not be able to get him to drink it straight out, which will mean mixing it will the current formula and 1 tins worth really isn't enough to give him long enough on it for you to see a difference.

It is worth talking to your doc and ask for a referal to a paed though to find out if he does have an allergy and then getting the neocate. If the paed approves it then nutricia will loan tins to you until the authority number comes through meaning you can get the tins quicker without the hefty price tag.

Giving the formula wouldn't hurt a baby without allergies, it has everything a normal formula has it has just been treated in such a way that the protein has been broken down to amino acids so that the babies immune system doesn't attack it. Cory is on neocate and doesnt have a dairy intolerance.

the trouble with trying the tin, is that when it runs out (it will only last 2 days if that, depending on how much she drinks), is that if she likes this stuff...its about $100 a tin without the special number

and you can only get his number through a pead.

our situation at the moment is Ellie's on 10mg of Losec/day and having gaviscon at bottles during the day. She is happy playing on the ground, lying on her back etc but is sooooo hard to get a bottle into. I've been puttin up with it thinking it was just part of having a reflux baby but a friend came to visit today and her baby had reflux but then also was found to have a dairy intolerance. She thinks Ellie would be better on Neocate because she thinks she sounds just like her daughter. She's given me a tin of it...what should I do?? Do I go ahead and use it or wait until I can see a specialist???
