Yep, still aiming for a vabc...unless I go too overdue. I had an epidural at 6CM, but unfortunately I didn't get past 6CM.   My epidural failed though and only half worked down one side so no pain relief, and by that stage I was over it and opted for a c-section. Did you push him out unaided or did they need to use ventouse or forceps?

I'm still having a "I'll attempt the VBAC" day today. Especially if I can still have the epi. I had a VBAC this time round & also had an epi. I'm like you & doubt I could've done it without one. I don't seem to have fast labours so the epi was really the only thing that got me through.

Anyway, this time I tried to stay at home as long as possible & when I got to hospital I was 6cm (with my first son I was only 1cm when I got to hosp). I got my epi a couple of hours after arriving at hosp & I was 7cm. I was well & truly ready for it by then though .

Just looking up my notes

At 5.20am was 5 cm

epidural in at 6.30am

at 6.50 was 9cm!

oh then it says epi infusion commenced at 7am, but from memory I could still feel all the pain and the epi guy hadn't shut the thing properly!! Bloody man

I had to wait for an hour before pushing as he was too high still, then had 2 hours of pushing and he was a forceps delivery.

Right, so today I'm having a "maybe I CAN do the VBAC" day. Don't know how long it'll last-by tomorrow I may be terrified & may have changed my mind again.

So I have a question....are there any ladies out there who had an epidural & still managed to have a successful VBAC? I'm being realistic-I really don't think I can do the VBAC without an epidural-I'm too much of a wuss. I know some ladies can go without but I'm not one of them.

Anyway, if you did have the epidural & still got your VBAC-how many cms were you when you had the epidural? Last time I had the epidural at 4cm, so I was thinking maybe if I could hold out till 6cm or 7cm this time that would give me a better chance?
