I was hoping the same. I am allergic to grass and birch, DH had food allergies as a child.

Unfortunately both of our kids have severe food allergies. Both are allergic to peanuts and soy. DS (aged 3) is also allergic to dairy and eggs and DD (9mths) is also allergic to tree nuts. DS also has some environmental allergies (dust and grass). Both had eczema and reflux as well as a whole lot of other related health problems (we too are the picture of health )

My kid's specialists reckons that you don't inherit specific allergies, just the propensity to be allergic.   With heaps of asthma and eczema on both sides the specialist thought that we had a 90% chance of having a 2nd child with allergies, he then devised a plan which he reckoned would reduce the risk to 5%. Either the plan didn't work or we were just in the unlucky 5%! . Both time I found the diagnosis a shock - so I would prepare yourself for the worst case scenario.

Hard to say! My DD didn't get my asthma & eczema but my DS has.

I am half way through my pregnancy and am hoping my little one wont be born with all of my allergies!
I wondered if there is anyone on Oh Baby who has a Nut allergy and has had a baby who also suffers the same?
Peanuts are at the top of my allergic list followed by most other nuts, beans, chickpeas and pulses, sesame seeds, coconut, cherries, apples and ofcourse pollen and dust mites. (Along with childhood asthma and eczema) Im a pure picture of health - me!
