I use homemade flannel/cotton velour wipes and keep a day or two's supply wet in a old huggies tub.

Hi there,

I have everything I need on my change table which has a couple of shelves. I have my prefolds neatly stacked and then some storage boxes which contain his pull up pants, and another with cloth wipes . I use a spray bottle of water to squirt the wipe before use. I keep a plastic container to throw in the used nappy and then once baby is all changed and happy, I put him down in his rocka or something and I can empty the nappy (or nappies) into the pail in the laundry ready for washing.

So.....
* baby on table
* take off old nappy
* throw nappy into plastic container
* spray cloth wipe
* clean bum
* apply Ecostore bum cream
* put on new nappy

You're full of good ideas Manda, I started doing the huggies box thing but I like the spray bottle too. i use the little cotton baby face cloths as wipes, and have a spray bottle of water in his room to wet them,
When out and about i use a huggies wipe box with damp cloths in it.

Ah thanks guys. For some reason I kept thinking that if I had a pooey nappy I had to rinse off the wipe and wet it again to clean up... Duh, I can just have a few wet cloths ready to go! Yep, mega cheap flannels here.   I have a plastic bowl in her room and a thermos of warm water. I just add a bit of warm water into the bowl to wet the flannel then have another container (with a lid) to put the dirty wipes in. i used flannels - you know those baby ones they sell in packs of four or so.   In fact i did cloth wipes before i did cloth naps.

what part are you having a hard time understanding? the washing, the storing?

some poeple store them in ice cream containers (or similar) with water or just pre dampened so you can have them on the change table ready to go.

I use homemade flannelette/cotton velour wipes. Just wet with warm water when I'm changing her - easy peasy. If it's no 2's then I just grab 2 wipes otherwise just one for wees.

I do the same as Rachel.

 

For our wipes, I just cut up a couple of spare muslin wraps and sewed them, nice and easy. If you could get hold of some cheap face cloths, they would work well too

Hi SpecialK we use cloth wipes. What we do is at change time I check in the side of DD's nappy if there is a poo or not. If not, then I just get one wipe, wet it with warm water then go change her (changemat is in her room). If there *is* a poo, then I get 3 or 4 wipes, wet them and then go change her. Then the dirty wipes as well as the nappy get rinsed off in the laundry tub before going in the bucket with all the other wipes and nappies. I want to try using cloth wipes, but can't figure out how I'd do it unless I changed nappies in the bathroom... which we can't do as it's too small and change table is in H's room.

I guess with wet naps you can have a container with water, but what about dirty naps? I just can't get my head round the logistics...
